I think the MLR/CPR issues prevented MLR having an even stronger team.
Still won it though i guess

Evo's are easier to tune £ for £, so 500+ is more achievable / obtainable for a greater number of people so there is a lot more of them.
More higher powered cars = more for sale - simples.

Kezzo80,
Are they really THAT much cheaper though, by the time you buy a proper gearbox and diffs that the Subaru has already got. Especially if you want to launch it. For 500bhp build I bet there is not much in it, if you do everything properly.
Steve,
I don't mind spending the cash on another car.... but ending up with a car that is virtually the same seems a bit pointless after spending another wedge.

I think they must be cheaper as there would be more high power Scoobs out there.
When I get to 500 on my VIII I'll come back and tell you how much it cost me!

So you want an VI gear box and IX Rear Diff, better still use RS diffs (No AYC)

We will be driving around in hoover cars by then. You can't say a figure on how much it costs you as compared with me and shaun as we have had our cars for years and you can get an evo 8 for £10k now so if you say spend £5k to get it to that power on the cheap its totally different as our cars cost much more than that standard years ago ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Whats the point in trying to do it on the cheap? Any mods on any car done on the cheap will last all of ten minutes in the real world.

Mine has had over £30k worth of mods and labour on it, on top of the car price. Is that cheap enough?

Could I have got an EVO that is more reliable, the same power and quicker, taken from a base car cheaper?

The evo engine is more efficient and they can also run leaner than we can in subarus.
Got to high 400's with just a walbro on mine though but there comes a point where it isnt worth risking an engine for the sake of 'wondering' why it can't do it. Just put a proper fuel pump on if you are after that power![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
