Back when the 306 was a new car....
I chased one up to Dalby Forest (only spectating on a rally) in damp conditions he keep me at bay, there was no way I'd have got past without a suicidal overtake. Gti-6 vs std. UK turbo.

suprised no one said why they got a huge 443bhp, but only 315ftlb????
scoobs are pretty even due to the way the engines are....
so if this muppet in a front wheel drive car put his little pug against a scoob with 443bhp.
he's be completly left, one of the biggest eliments that a scoob has
traction....

Their just an insecure bunch of kids who want to be as quick as the bigger boys (but cant afford to), the ironic thing is when the credit crunch is over and they get jobs, they'll save hard to try and own a scoob, i love the term "scooby killer" it shows respect, and the guy that started the thread guessing that the scoob he just stayed with had to be circa 400bhp ............................................ .......that'll wind them up

440bhp, fair play, it takes a brave man to drive a FWD car with that sort of power. i don't know why the guy is surprised enough to post on the web though that he passed a scoob,

i can confirm it is a quick quick car, seen it a few times and i like it . This is not the only one either , there are about 20 - 30 of them running rotrex s with 250 hp plus. I think it would be great fun to have a get together at the pod and see whats what and then a track day special. They are not a bad bunch of guys.
i wowned my 6 for nearly 10 years but have gone and bought my self a scooby now, and love it too..
here are a couple of clips of the said 306 with a rotrex in its early stages running around 390 hp:

Yet again it shows the scoob as the benchmark performance wise that some people aspire to.
that sort of power thorugh a fwd system designed for 170 or so BHP, traction and handling will be interesting to say the least, keep the 306 on a straight-ish road and no doubt it would beat a scoob once rolling, no problem.
Even with handling mods it will need launch control for all weathers i guess, like the 306 handling, hate Pug build quality - or the lack of it. I am sure it will just keep breaking things as all 10+ year old pugs do...

One of my mates has a Supercharged Dimma. He keeps fecking about with standard engines though. If he ever builds a proper engine it has the potential to be one of the nicest cars about. Off the mark it wont be that quick but get it rolling and it should be fairly quick. He's going to get his *** handed to him when mine's finished though

when i did a track day at brands few months back and this pug was there it was a sessioned day and he was in another group but this car is very quick for a little pug, it was murdering cars and i suspected he had some money under the bonnet. a lot of power for fwd though isnt it 430+bhp
shame his driving didnt match his engine build
what does circa mean doing my head in now
pugs are pants though with tis one maybe an exception to the rule every pug me the mrs or my sister has owned has just dicintigrated and the gearbox felt like srting the windows mist up in all conditions the exhausts fall apart i could go on

I've been a paasenger a couple of times and to be honest on a dry day and a rolling start it would give most run of the mill scoobies a run for there money (mine included). Obviously were talking a tuned 306 vs a standardish subaru, once you start swapping turbo's etc it becomes a one horse race.

ok im relatively new to this forum (fisrt post ever )
but lol.... nice one... the little children have found something to feel all 'grown up' about... one day they will hit the age where their insurance will go down and they can 'afford' a proper car... they will no doubt end up with an impreza all of their own, and ironically, it will then become the 'fastest most bestest' car in the world...
the really sad part is with all the money he has spent on the 'crisp packet' he could have probably gone out and bought a nice shiney scoob (which looks and sounds better) and possibly even insured it on 'daddies' insurance. i owned a honda previously which was running 300hp (ish) and it too was FWD... it was a nightmare in the wet, slighty wet, single rain drop wet to get any sort of traction off the line.... and when its wet, the spin through 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th gear when pushing it.... just eats the tread.... and costs even more money.... i now own a wagon, and i must say the AWD is
well theres my 2 cents worth....

i love it how they all get so proud that one of thiers is quicker than an impreza, but the true test would be to take a stock impreza and a stock gti 6 then spend the same on both cars then see whos still grinning at the end!!!

A standard UK turbo 2000 or a standard UK WRX would have trouble getting away from a GOOD 306 GTI-6 (note that as with subaru's, there are a fair few crap/molested/knackered 6's out there), Ive done it in my last 6 (only last year), she was a good un quite happily kept up with an 03 plate standard wrx, he wasnt so happy about it and did some stupid manouvres to prove his worth would have just had him in the Type R or my old spec c
Once rolling there are alot of cars out there that will keep up with standard subaru impreza's (as pointed out which models above), and having owned 3 306 gti-6's (2 virtually new ones and one with 85k on the clock) I wouldnt get so high and mighty about it, even with my MY00 PPP'd car I had a 306 Rallye in my rear view mirror, and it wasnt getting that much smaller.

Quote from the thread:
"the normal uk turbo's are about 210bhp aren't they? gave one of these grief in a bog standard 106 xsi on a duel carriageway in wilmslow. infact i bummed it, with 3 asian onlookers frowning at me"
Sorry but having owned both above mentioned cars this has to be the most laughable thing I have ever read, what a numpty.

the gti-6. these bad boys put out 167bhp and 145ft/lbs, and are nearly as light as a classic 'preza, they hit 60 in just under 8s. i can see why your scoob struggled, the 145ft/lbs alone is phenomenal. just the other day, i was driving around a 30mph bend understeery on the limit, and a ford ka kept up with me around the bend, this puppy also appeared to be doing 30mph....crAAAAAAzy, he had me in a twisty, i daren't go on the ford ka forum as my **** may invert itself with the humiliation.

Being on my 3rd scoob in 10 years (ive had a couple of the best road going scoobs you could imagine ) the standard UK car was by far the least impressive performance wise over said hot hatch, and trust me, a good gti 6 (along with many decent hot hatches) will give a standard uk or uk wrx a run for its money.

A standard spec C did the Nurburgring in 7mins 59secs.Thats 13 miles, if the pugs gearbox last that long or the torque steer has not put him in the trees and beats 8 mins then he can make the claim. If you want to be able to do a 9.21 second 120mph run with a 57 bhp ford fiesta.... cheat ... Quote A Quick Recap. Earth's gravity causes objects to fall. ... in order to reach the ground in 9.2 seconds, the free-falling object's ... For example, the commonly-accepted terminal velocity of a free-falling object is around 120 mph. ... over a cliff best place for chav fiestas n pugs.

As you have no idea about cars you may be shocked to understand that a STANDARD impreza turbo isnt exactly that quick (have you ever owned one from new? ive owned 2, one had a little more power than the other one though ) and I had a hard time against a 170bhp 1.8 honda civic vti.
