never had an encounter with a gti6 in my scoob. Always heard they were quicker than their standard figures suggest. My mate who bought my mondeo st24 off me witnessed one up a motorway sliproad and got his **** handed to him he thought he would have had some chance but apparently not. :

Sorry to get this back to the top again BUT, can we just compare like for like for a minute (just humour me), the modded gti-6 that all this fuss was originally about was i beleive a modded top spec pug hot hatch and also a tuners car running approx 2 1/2 times its factory output and comparing it to a scoob in an unknown state of tune, so the only fair thing to do would be to compare it to a 750bhp spec-c tuners car, i wonder what the outcome would be........................................ ....

The ones that spring to mind (apart from the obligatory 93 silver WRX with lexus lights ) are a 52 plate Red Bull stickered up Bugeye (which is actually driven by my Mrs friends boyfriend ), a 54 plate black Blobeye WRX and a 51 playe Bugeye GX driven by some chavvy looking lass
Do you drive a silver Blob STi by any chance

Was it that minging bird driving it? She tried it on once on the hill which goes upto Foxhills ind. est. from Skippindale, suffice to say in my little 900kg car she didn't win the battle to 70

Unfortunatly I didnt catch a glimpse of the driver, it was dark and only saw it from a side/rear angle...but i'll definatly be keeping my eye out for this one! Should provide a laugh!!

Yeah it does look pretty tidy, think hes got 888's fitted aswell, but ive never seen it being driven steady, although anything more than steady on your road and its hello field

Theres some dosy bint who has a nice looking RB320 that seems to drive everywhere @ 30mph. I've seen her filling up at Morrisons with normal unleaded too

Not seen the RB320, sounds like thats gonna have a lucky next owner. But have seen what looks to be a Nan, driving a brand new Focus RS, she drives it with the seat real high and forward! "the lady position" .

And yes, vanos, what a nightmare, one of the things that put me off looking at an M5

M5's Didnt really suffer all that bad, was mainly the twin vanos evo's.
Intrigued to know how you knew it was an evo? The kit you refer to can be put on anything down to a 318is (not at all saying it was a 318 lol) Also the speeds your talking about?
Mine was rapid, beat a couple e46 m3's on the motorway!

Been up against some of the lower powered (276bhp?) non evo models, this had the badges etc but still I would have had about 40bhp on the none evo cars, use to reel in e46 M3's for fun, even happily kept up with an M5 (51 plate i think?), and as for speeds, I changed from 4th to 5th as I passed him

E46 is faster to 60 but thee old evo's are faster after that. The older M3 was a 3.0 single vanos and about the bhp you said.
Impressed with you passing one at those speeds! I know how fast fourth was in mine, i think 5th is geared to 167mph ;-), but a limiter in 6th to 158mph
The M5 is only a fraction faster than the evo, due to weight, but its full of luxuries interior wise

One of my mates has a Supercharged Dimma. He keeps fecking about with standard engines though. If he ever builds a proper engine it has the potential to be one of the nicest cars about. Off the mark it wont be that quick but get it rolling and it should be fairly quick. He's going to get his *** handed to him when mine's finished though
Is it the blue panasonic demo car that was supercharged?
if so my mate used to own it, but couldnt drive anywhere in it cos it was sooo wide lol, nice car though!

I used to have a very good GTI-6 and only sold it recently, I did like the car but my "STANDARD UK WRX" would wipe the floor with it...From stand still, once rolling and in the "Twisties". Case closed!

before i ownd my scooby i had a 106 turbo running near 300 bhp when the car was rolling there wasnt much that could touch it in a straight line but as soon as you showed it a corner it was usless compared to my scooby massive amount fun mind as you was fighting with it all the time really kept me entertained but the running costs were crazy was in and out the garage every time i took it out pretty much
