just let the little boys in the pugs pass you and think they "did" a scooby. they havn't got much else to do with their lives than brag about their cheap cars and then cry when they crash them due to big heads and minor driving skills. the differance between us and them is we know we dont have to try cos come on, we drive the best cars out there. its the prestige and reputation of the scoobs that make everyone try to race us and i just think its funny and quite flattering

sorry that was just soooooooo funny
Of course a 997 GT3 would never be on your wish list? and compared to one of those a scoob is like a 1.2 corsa

I doubt a gt3 would make mine look like a 1.2 corsa

Not a chance, a type R civic will keep up with a standard wrx from a rolling start but that's about all it will do...

I think some people will be in for a shock the honda civic was about 1.5 secs quicker from 60-100 than an MY01/02 wrx, and still quicker than the MY03-05 wrx in the same sprint (use the search function, lots of shocked people with wrx's out there )
A GTI 6 will give a standard uk turbo or uk wrx a run for its money, if you have no understanding of gear ratio's, power deliver, transmission losses or that BHP = BHP and not NA BHP is much less than turbocharged BHP "cos its got a turbo", your deluding yourselves
Oh and power to weight, think when you get passed by a lotus elise with 111bhp that has a better CD and p2w ratio than your car you will be crying

Tony

PS, scoobs are not the fastest things on the road, far from it (especially uk turbos and uk wrx's)

Actually that's about the one thing it won't do, the Scoob is quicker off the mark in the main due to better traction.

Once up and runnng a well driven CTR is pretty much a match for a standard UK WRX and actually faster in some areas. I should know as I have one.

This thread is turning in to one of the funniest ever, at the end of the day be happy with what you got (car wise) and stop rising to the bait!!!!

If whoever thinks there cars fastest then let them, who cares. I think my Scooby's great and is within my price range, yes I'm sure there's better cars out there but I can't afford them. This is turning into a game of "Top Trumps"

Some people have no concept of their cars limitations!! Below a random quote from one of the ***** on the thread!

"the normal uk turbo's are about 210bhp aren't they? gave one of these grief in a bog standard 106 xsi on a duel carriageway in wilmslow. infact i bummed it, with 3 asian onlookers frowning at me"

That made me laugh more than some of the drivel on this thread

I assume the XSI was probably racing a sport

On here and there it seems

Simple loyalty and rose tinted glasses to a brand. I have mine split between rice rockets and tin cans (Scoobs and Pugs).

Going to have to dig out the video i've got of a 306 GTI-6 from few years back.

A1 I was heading back in my MG ZR Turbo (820Ti Turbo Conversion) and was messing around with my mate in his Astra GSi and a Phlem coloured yellow/gold 306 decided to come flying past.

Decided to give chase and to be honest can't say I beat him didn't really have a chance I soon felt like Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder driving through thick black smoke once I finally cleared it, he'd pulled into the hard shoulder.

I wanted to laugh but didn't to be honest he probably had the last laugh he'd wrecked his car and only lost £400 or am I being generous on the prices.

Black smoke means it was probably a td or hdi, if the engine goes its either blue or white smoke (and it was still probably worth more than your rover )

No idea what 306's go for but I sold my MG for £9,500 for a modded car after MG had collapsed I didn't think that was to bad. I'd spent £24k on it including buying car though but had owned it 3 years so wasn't to bad.

Was 18 when I bought that sold it at 21, then went Ibiza Cupra R, Supra TT, Supra TT Aero, Clio V6, Blobeye STI, E46 M3, then Hawkeye STI so to be honest I'm allowed a bad car in the collection (or 2 including the V6)

On serious note though the MG would own Impreza WRX's
