I went through 3 RA gearboxes on my 95 WRX, that was on a 'genuine' TD05-20G running at 440bhp with NF and a splash of meth, wooo, thats going back about 8 years lol.....
Beware of some of the cheap import 20G's as they just don't make the power and suffer from slower spool up.
The fuel you use can make a big difference too, its not uncommon to see 10% gain from octane boosters such as NF, E85 or Meth so make sure you compare like with like.
The box I have found most likely to withstand this output is the Sti 5/6. Most 5sp UK boxes will damage 3rd gear at this level if the car is also making decent torque.

Anyhoo I have a Sti 5/6 box from a P1 in my shed ready for the day mine does decide to go boom

Come to think of it, it would probably be a better idea to fit it rather than wait for my own to explode lol

Quite a few customers boxes have also let go at similar levels though, its function of time x torque x shock loading ie you will only get away with it for a short period if you give it hell, it will live longer if treated gently on a gearshift but ultimately its 'in the post' for delivery sooner or later if running circa 400bhp on any UK box.

I use to run an 18g and don't get me wrong it was good fun but i love the 20g as its just more mid to top end grunt and more ft so over all the 20g with 7cm housing is great but it felt even better when i had my six speed box fitted not sure why but it just complimented it and i went form 350bhp to almost 390bhp with another 35ft to go with it

Does the STi v.2 have hydraulic heads, a la the MY93-96 WRX? If so, then the 18g is the perfect choice as the hydro heads can go weird - fluttery and surgey - at about, and limited to, c.380bhp. So a perfect turbo for sure.

Couldn't agree more Andy, my stock Sti 5/6 box put up with loads of abuse and only finally spat it's dummy out at 550+bhp and 520lbft. It was 4th that finally broke on mine and we repaired it for no more than a couple of hundred pounds.

best to buy a genuine one atleast that way you get piece of mind, I sold my 20G which made 419.5bhp with 10% meth mapped by Slowboy racing on a 2liter I then had martyn map it on an engine tuner built 2.5 and he got over 430 of torque. I sold the turbo to chap on here he drove the car all the way to turkey and done a euro trip 11000 miles around Europe and the turbo made 370 on his car with out meth and headers and only 1.5 bar on ecutek mapped by power engineering I think. That’s a genuine turbo for you mine was purchased originally from mark at lateral.
I would hate to be out and about going for a blast and the turbo decides to let go and who knows might even cause engine damage so you will be looking for a new turbo and possibly a rebuild. When in the first place you could of bought genuine and got piece of mind and can get a good resale on it too.

i installed the turbo runs sweet. alsthough the actuator supplied is a 1 bar acuator i only get 10psi from it so i need to adjust it to 1bar. everything seems fine including the gear box. but im not really ragging it till i have done a few more mods. headers probably like you say a 5/6 gear box. im very happy with my purchase.
