NF can supply measuring cylinders if you ask .
I used to use Millars but changed to NF out of pure curiosity. I'm sure both do what they claim, but I've never had the chance to compare back to back, since Optimax came out as I switched to NF. However, contrary to some views I prefer the method of dispensing into a vial rather than putting a 'one shot' bottle in per tank since as we know Optimax is pretty rare and in quite a few instances its not practical to run the tank near to empty to use the one shot bottle. Also if you want to put half a tank in then you can with NF, just measure out 25ml instead of 50, easy peasy.
If NF bring out one shot bottles, I'd still buy the bigguns

Gossy - Millers Octane Plus is available from Scoobymania (www.scoobymania.co.uk) for £2.20 per bottle (tank's worth) + VAT + packaging). Definitely smoother and quieter with it in, and seems happier at lower revs than it was. Cruised up a (mild) hill at 40mph in 5th (1500rpm) without realising it yesterday - normally I drop to 4th as it doesn't feel happy with it...
Regarding top end power and SUL vs Optimax - the power was the same, but it held it for longer. Optimax has anti-det additives in, which would explain why it could hold higher boost than on normal SUL.
Cheers

To measure the NF I use a drinks bottle (one with a pull up push down lid) mark out measurements using water at 50 ml increments then fill with NF. When you come to fill up you can squirt the stuff into the tank and avoid smelly fingers.
Heard a worrying thing about octane booster nackering your spark plugs up very quickly. Now thinking twice about using it. Anyone else had problems?

I think the Spark plug getting knackered thing is a bit of misinterpretation from what happened on my car.
My fuel reg was sh4gged and I had around 4.5bar pressure at idle - with 550cc injectors. Hence the plugs got fouled v quickly.
That would have been the case with or without octane booster.
Plugs should be fine unless you overdose the car on the Booster.

Dingy,
you say that the Mon for Optimax and Millers is the same as for SUL yet on Millers tech sheet they don't agree,I think,as i'm going from memory.I will post Millers Mon stats for SUL V OB and Optimax when i get home to check

I meant that SUL and Optimax have a VERY simular MON rating. Before the octane Boost.
I rang up Shell and Esso to get the MON ratings of UK fuels, so just repeating what i was told.

Ran Optimax in my '98 PPP for a while and came to the conclusion that it must be far less RON than stated, as the car did not perform at all well. Changed back to SUL and all the performance has returned. Optimax now used only if SUL not avalible, but I think we are deluding ourselves on this one guys, it's probably better than UL, maybe the price is just too tempting.
