I have to agree; I don't know what it is with Oasis albums but they just seem to lack recording quality. Especially when compared to Brothers in Arms, or Urban Hymns.

Being nostalgic, I put some on last night and was reminded why it doesn't get played that much.

Fine when you have mates round, or doing other stuff and crank it it up loud (loud is what it should always be ). But I find I can't just sit down and listen to it; its like listening to a low bitrate MP3. Same problem using ear phones or in the car (aftermarket head unit/speakers).

mmm..

I think Screamadelica by primal scream, The black album by Metallica, Black holes and revelations by Muse, The stone roses, seldom seen kid by Elbow, Doolittle by the pixies, Nevermind by Nirvana would all be in my top 10.

On that list probably only dire straits would be in there.

the dire straits album has the only song on it that has ever made me cry
Nearly all Dire Straits songs make me want to cry through acute boredom

She is a bit of a shouter, and the cover she did lately completely alienated me. Lungs is a well put together album though. I'd like to see more of the Machine involved though.

Which musically challenged retard voted for Phil Collins????

FFS!!!!
Although no fan of his solo albums, Phil Collin's contribution to John Martyn's superb album Grace and Danger with sympathetic vocals and drumming on Sweet Little Mystery was something special
