Just purchased one for £11.66 posted from Hong Kong on eBay:
Mini DV HIDDEN DVR Sports Video Camera Spy cam MD80 on eBay (end time 17-Feb-10 16:02:07 GMT)

Also you could purchase one of these to keep it powered none stop:
USB Car Charger for iPod MP3 MP4 CREATIVE ZEN on eBay (end time 15-Feb-10 13:56:33 GMT)

or

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Charger-fo...item3caa0d8830

That way you don't run out of battery

I like the idea of these, but call me a pesimist in the UK terms and conditions like these are probably illegal: "Bidder is responsible for any customs tariffs and any loss, defective, unreceived"

So if they claim to send them and don't... tough! Or they send them but they don't work... tough!

Shame, i'd like one but not that much.

Ok got mine today, but have a problem....how the hell do you install the thing on your computer, mine didnt come with any instructions, but I assumed you just put the small driver cd in, then plug in the cam, but my laptop doesnt seem to recognise the cd (is it correct the cd being a small one and not a normal size?)

When I turn the camera on Ive no idea if its recording etc, help lol

You don't have to install anything unless you want to use it as a webcam. The webcam driver and instructions are on the mini CD. Your laptop probably doesn't read mini cd's. To be honest though the instructions aren't worth the paper they are printed on as they have been literally translated from Japanese. Just make sure you charge it either at the wall or over USB on your puter when u get it. Then u hit the power button then the top button to start recording. And it will only record with an appropriate sd micro card in it.

Must say the charge held by it is pathetic. I charged it 2 days ago, whilst waiting for the sd card, n it was flat today :/

Ah that explains the cd issue, I also thought the cam had some internal memory, as I havent purchased an sd card yet. When I connect the cam via USB then go into My Computer it recognises it as a removeable disk drive, then when double clicked just says 'please insert disk into drive F', also what is the mode button on the side for?

Cheers

Yea it will say that as its looking for the SDcard. So when you get it, the cam also doubles as a ramstick and this is also the way of transferring the vids from the cam to your puter

The mode button is to switch between voice activation n normal recording. So when in voice mode (the red light blinks) it only starts recording when the sound level goes over 60db.

My charge issue was because I hadn't charged it properly But it takes ages to fully charge by all accounts. When fully charged the red n blue lights are static.

Okay thanks also for your link to the memory cards, unfortunatly does not seem overally cheap for the 8gb version, the one in the original link was only working out around a £1 more ??!!

the 16gb version is no good as the camera only accepts up to 8gb.

thanks anyway keep the memory card deals comming in thou guys !!!

If anyones interested, I have sorted how to change the date! thanks to scooby1doo1's you tube post. I found the solution in the comments of the video.

On the supplied software disc is a file named TXT, open it, change the date and time (in the same format) to the current time and date and then save it in the folder that the camera comes up as in My Computer.

It worked for me.

You just hit the top button to start recording normally mate. If you are already in voice mode, then u hit the mode button again to return to normal recording.
