Where have you got the camera mounted ?? obviously like any video recording source the more light the better the results , so a bit more info such as where you have the cam mounted, light conditions ie is it day or night when you are recording etc may help us to help you.
class 4 would not effect the picture quality but could effect the recording/ play back results as from what I keep reading you really do require class 6 but as I say this particular thing would not make any difference to the actual picture quality.
possibly just a faulty camera ??

My PC didn't/doesn't automatically recognise it's in webcam 'mode' ...but opening up VLC media player & going thru the media menu & capture device tab (configure the video device to spca1528) & bingo (play) ...i can see what it sees

Would recommend one, been playing with mine today and im amazed at the quality such a little thing can take!
The only bit i have a problem with is aligning the camera, as i took some test video in the car and ended up pointing it at the bonnet pretty much
