Despite what ACPO recommends, an individual force can take you to court for anything over the limit. The 10% +2 was propsed by ACPO to ensure that people were not penalised unfairly.

I knoew from my job that Radar cannot be guaranteed to be 100% accurate, it can be affected by extraneous occurrences. There was a man summonsed for doing some 45 mph according to a Gatso but when he worked out his true speed by looking at the camera evidence he was doing 17 mph! The Gatso employee in court said it could have been caused by the radar getting a spurious reading off the side of a nearby bus! What does that say for Gatso's being used to convict people? If you have been done unfairly, you have to ask to get the photo and sometimes they don't want to let you have it.

I think personally that it is unfair to use radar for motorists' speed measurement and at least ACPO went some distance to address this.

A GPS at a steady speed will be pretty accurate as mentioned above. My speedo is 2 mph fast at 30 which at least is a bit protective.

We aren't the real criminals, therefore we don't need speed cameras.End of story.

As far i i know they take the top 25% (not sure of the actual figure)of speeders and prosecute those. This is what i was told a few years ago but i wouldnt stake my life on it

No can do If I was caught I would be stripped of a certificate that is essential in my upcoming job role, if you are close to me, you can come look though (wxm)

Btw, I will post my bundle, it is a pain in the ****, so tomorrow or Monday.

Chris - I thought the roads felt a teeny bit safer! What a great job these people are doing for us - they are putting the 'public' back into service!
