The desktop software is indeed very nice and welcome Snazy, but it doesn't update your phone's firmware. Anyhow lets not dwell, I doubt the market for Apple users with personal Blackberrys that care about updates is very large.

You update the firmware via the desktop software Jack, so I am assuming you would be able to do the same with the Mac desktop software. So it does in part update your phones firmware
I think there is a suprisingly large MacBerry market out there, hence them writing the software etc. And also on Crackberry there is a large group of Mac users.

That is proper random!
I can understand if it was only a couple of months since Android hit the market, but thats a long time now for no other platform to be supported yet.

You're right Snazy, I stand corrected. You can update firmware with the Blackberry desktop software for OSX.

Umm, no. The only thing I'd appreciate is the volume of the calls, obviously designed for old deaf business men rather than hipsters.

Depends mate, a lot of the non specific firmware upgrades allow for the vendor/carrier software to be removed. Depending who you carrier is and what was in place to lock the phone to the network, the update could well do that.

I have never tried unlocking mine, never had the need to, but am curious now lol

I think Apple with have a few tricks up their sleeve that don't feature on that list. But I do hope they use the Multitouch Casing idea.

I'm too considering an iphone next and would be interested in the new model as i will be upgrading in may/june.

Interestingly the rumours from Jacks link indicate it might get a better camera, fm radio and video calling

If they did the things like 5MP camera with flash, and the multi-touch casing that could make for a very nice phone. If they could get a 2GHz processor also then even better.

in regards to the camera flash, the nokia n82 has a proper flash, not a silly led, i don't know why phone companies don't use theses flashes more often. The Sony c905 had a similar flash also.

I also believe that, Even though other phone manufacturers have done it in prototypes, i have a feeling apple will release the first ever optical zoom on a phone for the market.

I personally would like to see the software looking different as I'm bored of it

Why wont this pesky iPhone of mine allow me to save a ringtone I just created (actually using an Apple FCP) and then e-mailed to my self? I can listen to it, but is there any way to save it and assign as a ring-tone for this person. (Its quite hilarious!)

Why they make simple basic things so hard!

D

PS still STILL hasn't crashed (and I'm loving that)

Snazy, perhaps the graph didn't load for you so I'll explain. 75% of Android buyers are male, this compares to 50% of iPhone users and I suspect Blackberry would be about the same. Android has a Dude problem right now and if they don't sort it out users will never get the Tesco app.
