Yeah just read they are expecting release on 29th.
Full spec
HTC Desire - Full phone specifications
And as a compare (spec only of course as you cant compare anything to the iPhone lol)
HTC Desire vs. Apple iPhone 3GS - GSMArena.com

I know there are only about a tenth of the apps available for the Android compared to the iphone at the moment, but that's got to change hasn't it?

Whats going on here? Why is the iphone in such a decline with browsing?
Stats: iPhone OS is still king of the mobile web space, but Android is nipping at its heels -- Engadget

Just tried out the HTC desire and it is the best phone I have ever used!
I think I will get one next week and see how I get on with the touch keyboard, just seen the video footage on you tube that some one has taken with there desire and it amazingly clear and best of all the phone is free on contract!
Who is getting or got one? The HTC sense UI really makes the phone IMHO.

Can anyone explain to me why i cannot use my HTC Hero as an alarm clock ????
Every other phone ive had over the last ten years has had the ability to switch itself on at 7 in the morning and start the alarm to wake me up.
The Hero will only sound the alarm if switched on..!!! So do i have to leave it on all night!!!
Or am i being a ****....

They have a special offer down at Carphone Whorehouse, trade in your iPhone and get 2 years free service and discounted upgrades to one of the twenty phones HTC will come out with in that time.

t-mobile upgrade, but its on a business account so i'm not sure if that makes any differance?
That was the first deal offered to me, when I asked why they had given me a good deal straight away the lady said that I had come through directly to the retention department and missed out all the other support that offer you crap deals.
Tmobile head office are out of stock but she called my local store and they have just had some delivered and one is reserved for me to pick up on my way home
was not sure about only 300 minutes but its actually 5 hours to mobiles and unlimited landlines which should take a lot of using up!

had the desire for a day or so now and extremely impressed.
initially there was a learning curve (and even an "what the hell have i bought" for an hour or so) that you do not have with an iphone, but after this just impressed and impressed some more.

I was planning on 'rooting' my hero this week to install 2.1 but i hit a snag.
I sat down for half an hour and could not work out which custom rom i liked best, so i left it alone
Also i have been doing a few tests, because i spend most of my time either here at work, or at home, i have left WIFI switched on constantly, and not allowing it to sleep.
The thinking was that while its locked to a wifi signal, it uses a lot less juice than the other options while searching for the best connection.
I do actually appear to have gained some decently extra battery life, probably because the phone signal at home is not the best. (sometimes i struggle to lock onto gps sat nav for starters)
I read the above 'renegade thinking tip' on a forum and gave it a try, quite surprised by the result as most people say "NOOOOO SWITCH OFF WIFI IT SUCKZ"
If you are out and about travelling then it is not going to do anything for you at all.
