With an overclocked 4.7COCKFLOPS i reckon its probably the former

Managed to get the email notification up in the task bar, so thats all good (but they are not flashing the led`s) , not sure if the twitter ones are working yet.
Seams super stable so far, will be interesting to see if the more efficient setup is kinder to the battery over time.

I'd think battery consumption would be pretty high on the task list for a new release.
As for the lights I'd be most pleased if some LED's had stopped flashing, can't stand the bloody things, remind me of an Ericsson phone I once had forced on me that lit up the room.
What's the crack with unlocking? Easy or a pain?

Unlocking was a bit of a pain for me, some are easier than others, it totally depends on what your current installed "official" rom/bootloader are, as every time they updated them, they locked out various methods for gaining root.
