The Facelifted 2009 looks slightly less of a Taxi Cab ..... but, it still does have that 'look'.

£15,200 OTR for the 200 BHP Petrol is an appeal - but, only if it fires my soul (I'm not so sure it would?)
but what makes you want to go out and drive the scooby Pete? i doubt it's the looks

if the octavia can provide a similar driving experience i think you can get over the way it looks

I like the looks of the Scooby ... mine anyway, it's quirky (I like quirky)

But, I take your point ......

Only I had a nice driving PrimeraGT before the Impreza - and I did not feel like I wanted to drive it any more than I had to .... and I am concerned that will be how it is with the Octavia vRS .... nice driving, but forever looking like a Taxi Cab?

Rather than people stopping, looking and saying "It's a Scooby" They will be stopping and shouting, "TAXI!!"

Shouldn't laugh really but that did happen when I owned my VRS. Happened to my wife, whilst she was sat at some lights an old dear opened the back door tried to get in thinking it was a taxi

Nice looking car, but it's an Skoda Octavia - isn't it? Just much more expensive?

I'm interested to hear how adding a fuel pump will add 20BHP to it?

ask Mat at the racingline who mapped mine in Haliax or even Revo about the engines in the ed30, the engine is not the same as the normal gti ie cams and head plus turbo

There's no point extolling the virtues of a modded motor to SSU. It took about 7 years for him to replace his back box and that was when the original rotted through!

Anyway, I wouldn't touch a Golf. The wife has a Mk5 GTI and they are plagued with faults. Just go on the owner forums and see. Very nice car otherwise, unfortunately.

SSU wants a car that will last 10 years without fault (and any that do appear must self-heal.)

you've obviously got better cabs round your way than here!

my mate who's got the vRS has traded it in for the 59 vRS, spending some time looking over it i think it looks ok mind you i find very few cars 'pretty' though, so maybe not the best person to ask.

but it is a lovely car to drive and is fookin massive inside

Could be, he's had a Subaru for ten years and he might like to know what torque steer feels like

Just got the Impreza brochures from Subaru this morning ..... I really wish that there was more room in the boot!

What deals are there on the new Impreza?

SSU
If residual value is a major concern to you, then why buy new ?

Have a look at

Wrx s hatchback - Trovit Cars

15 pages of nearly new WRX/ WRXS/ STi/ STi330s hatches

Also I know for a fact that if you go with the cash you can get a brand new WRXS for £19k.

£19k would interest me .. I wonder if that also includes the £1000 Options Offer?

The dealer said there may be some discount for me as a Subaru owner - not sure if that is simply talk, or if it means anything ... but, anyway.

I cannot help myself thinking that I would be happier in a Subaru than another option .... but, am I just being clouded and blinkered?

I think the wrx-s is a really nice looking car (apart from the rear lights) in the flesh/metal

I changed to the quad tail pipe system at the end of November. I didn't particularly like the look of the single Prodrive pipe on one side and the car now has a more balanced look from the rear. A bit more 'burble' also. Subaru supplied and fitted so warranty unaffected and they took the exisitng Prodrive system in part ex.

Quick Reply: I want to stay with Subaru .... but ....
