Been doing a bit more digging on PePiPoo about the whys and wherefores, the six points I saw on the form (didnt read it properly) is if I dont get them the form back in 28 days, it doesnt actually say what they will do but based on the ACPO guidelines I am 2 mph off a Court appearance or having to plead guilty by post, potentially and hopefully being under 76 mph (in a 50) I might get the option of a "COFP", which is a Conditional Offer of a fixed penalty which is the standard 3 points and sixty quid, I hope so, I can live with that and it means I dont have to drive fixated on the speedo, just mindful that I may get another if I dont behave.
Also, out of interest, what happens say if you get three lots of 3 and get banned for a month under totting up, does that mean once the ban is server you can have another go and your licence is clean, obviously having to notify your insurance that you have been banned ?
Also, someone said that you dont have to tell your insurance about points until renewal, is this the case ?

I think you need to tell your insurers when you get convicted. No point not to really - I dont think they will issue any increased invoice till renewal (and even tghen its unlikely to be much). No point paying insurance if it doesnt actually cover you.
