He then accused me of not trying to move the car and I asked him to stop the car and we'll ask my neighbours about the imaginary car they were pushing earlier. This is while in his 4x4 we were sliding down the hill to my house (which according to him wasn't bad) he seemed to have missed all the cars stranded everywhere.

I'm not sure what he was trying to accomplish but all that he did was inforce the fact that he doesn't trust any of his staff and that he was a tool. He was nice as pie to me after I told him how annoyed i was at him. Missus wants me to take this up with someone higher up the rank of the franchise as he was absolutely disgusted.

You're having a laugh right?
He drove from Dublin to your house (Ballycarry isn't it?)

I think people just have different styles of being a boss, i have only really had to shout at a few of my lads in the past, don't get me wrong, i can be a **** of the highest order when pissed off, but generally i am quite laid back and tend to get better results without going mental.

Saying that though, some little punk wound me up so much at one point, i got the little f*cker in the office and we tossed a coin to see if the little gypo was going to keep his job

Not the best way of doing things, and i was gutted when he facking picked heads
I had to get rid of him a few weeks later when the knobber shut up shop 10 mins after i left and buggered off home to play on his computer (his gran told me when i rang her up?)
Only a moron would do that thinking you could get away with it, knowing the place is rigged with cctv, i watched him as he saw me leave, wait 10 mins, look at his watch then bugger off home

I have never been on the receiving end of "workplace bullying" probably because when i was an employee i was always considered the cream of the crop, and always put in 110%

He busted you gooooooood

Had the MD of our franchise owners park up one night in asdas car park accross the road, simply to watch what time i locked up, we never tend to do much custom once it gets dark, so he assumed we were locking up early.

He sat and watched me lock up 15mins after i was contracted to, jobs a gooden

Nice drive from High Wycombe ?!?! to Newcastle, to find nothing out of the ordinary
Apparently he stopped overnight in the local Premier Inn, and visited another site on the way back home to make sure they were opening at 8am

I only found out about this approx 2 weeks later when a regional manager came back from holiday and told me (the MD did not trust the regional manager either lmao)

All he had to do was ring up and ask about a date, and i could have supplied cctv footage of opening and closing times, he could have saved himself a bit of a journey

I have had my share of prima donna bosses to in the past. they can be really nasty since they are in a position of power and want to demonstrate that and to ease their irritation too.

I just used to say nothing and then walk away. They knew perfectly well when they were being unreasonable. Trouble is, in the Service you just can't be rude to a senior officer-not worth the trouble afterwards.

You cant say to him what a prat he is, but they can't stop you from thinking it!

Yep, thats a 240mile round trip! Just back from CAB, they told me to write a letter of complaint and ask how to start a grievance procedure as he broke his contract to me by failing to comply with Duty of Care and that by him arriving at my house uninvited I can also do him for harassment.

When i left the company 2 years ago, I let him off with quite a few things that could have cost him the franchise of his business but i'm not letting him off with this as quite tired of being walked over.

Maybe he thinks you are an untrustworthy and lazy employee? Perhaps this is based on his experience?

Nobody in their right mind would drive 2.5 hours just to see if what was said was true regarding the snow.

This guy must be a complete and utter *****

Well after a bit of advice from CAB and then a bit more advice from Paul on here, i decided against handing in a formal compliant although i still have the letter just incase. Instead I opted for an informal slagging match and got an apology and an acknowledgement that he handled the situation badly. I was happy enough that i got to vent my spleen and to know that it wasn't a trust issue but rather him just being a birk!

He sounds like a reet eejit. I have had ****e managers in my time. They have invariably been either:
a) Fat Ugly Middle-aged Women.
b) Short, pissend weedy Men.
c) Welsh.

Nuff Said!!

None of them are getting any action at home.
My proposal then is : - If you aren't getting some grumble action at home you should be barred from managing people at work!

(Sheep sh@gging does NOT count so point 3 stands!)
