the price of innovation I reckon...plenty of Subaru sheds to choose from in various guises what with them being so cheap these days anyways

with something so different there are always going to be haters... if we all liked the same thing this would be one mega boring world!!

This personally is an awesome car! super different and i respect that. yeah sure there will be people that don't like it but why vent your disapproval so much? then try to justify your unlike for the car?

As ever... me likey the pics

I like the debate the car creates, some people will never get it, and will never understand it. But if you can't you're not meant to I guess. The reason for RWDing it, is very simple, this is a Drift car, for Amateur drift. But also acts as my daily.

Anyway, I said I went lower, so a have a Picture.

The moral of the story is, there is no story.

I really like the whole style, not just the car but pictures are amazing, I dunno just find the whole thing very pleasing. It's like you've got a great little lifestyle thing going on with similar minded mates.

Love it. Specs?

What have you done to the arches? Added bits or just got carried away with the roller like me?

Simply stunning, love the SSR's on it. You need adaptors for them?

Blue classic is awesome too, very similar to mine just lower.....at the moment

Thanks guys!

The specs of the wheels are - 11x18 et16 with a 255/35/ tyre

I've converted my hubs to the later spec 5x114.3. Obviously as I am/was 5x100, to save having to run adapters, and spent alot of time with a roller and a hammer pulling the arch (and door!) out. Unfortunately had a problem with the fronts, as the guy I was buying them off ended up having his front end hit by a bus, but hopefully get something sorted soon. So still running the Grids up front, just going to space them 25mm to match the lower offset of the rears.

Arch still need alot of work, and I'm still playing around with the ride height, but slowing getting there. Took me two days just to get the rears on to the studs.

But my maths finally come through, as i have .5mm of clearance between the shock and the rim, so couldn't get any better really!

I was considering a hub conversion, as im fed up with not finding any decent wheels that will fit, all seem to be 5x114

Think it will look good with two sets of wheels, especially as its a drift car.

looks like the top of your lights need to be resprayed red, turning orange like mine!

I just love this car so much, best subaru ive ever seen! Cant wait to see it in the flesh at some shows next year maybe? Mine will be ready by then

Work certainly paid off!

I fitted my new 35mm adapters last night on the rear (9.5j wheels) so inner clearance is not an issue, but I'm now rubbing like hell on the bit of the arch near the lower door :/
Had a smash as it with a hammer but it wasn't budging, roller needed again methinks. Massive kudos on fitting 11s though.

I can see fun happening with the front though, I'm running 8.5s with a 25mm adapter and the arch is again rolled and flared quite a lot, and I'm going to have to crack out the camber to get them under the arches. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with though

We need to get a shoot sorted; me, you, Bockett etc. So get on with it Tom ;]

Yeah definatly! Its coming along now quickly Where abouts are you, may need to borrow your arch roller when new wheels get here.

Sorry to clutter up your thread Are these the SSR's that were on the old RX7?

Ive gone a step further with my arches, and actually gutted them completley, so its just one skin instead of the three. Cut up and hammered them out as much as i can, but the main problem, as you say is the door shut, hence why ive now had to hammer the lip on the door to suit. Its all pretty terrible to look at, as its no been prept at all, a just whacked some black primer and sealant on it, but it works for now, and it will only get damaged again at some point

Shoot would be awesome Where about are you two, I know Bockets in Oxford, and Im in Portsmouth/Salisbury/Southampton.

3 skins?!? WTF?

I'm up in Wolves, so a bit more of a trek. Possibly tie it in with a show next year or something? Or just a midnight fu*k it moment...

I'm pretty sure a bit of cracked paint and rippled metal will be pretty insignificant once you start drifting ;]

So the fenders are shot to **** now. Are you going to get the car to a point and then get the bodywork all tidy once you have the wheels and stance you want?
