Neilson have a few 'Beach club plus' resorts that have a kids club and nursery that only employ UK qualified staff, we spent 2 weeks at Halkidinki (sp) in Greece for our honeymoon, so the high horse brigade can read into that with pleasure. We generally had either a morning or afternoon to ourselves and there was also a babysitting / monitor service that we used occaisionally for the odd evening meal.
However I must say that our little girl (2 at the time) was a seasoned pro regarding nursery so that definately helps, plus we used the monitoring service in a time pre 'Maddie' and even though that situation was IMO completely different and unjustifiable, my wife now will not leave our kids alone in a room on holiday, however secure, monitored or with them even closer to us than in our own home.

I must admit I do like the idea of Orlando
Direct flights that arent too long, I can use my airmiles, decent accomodation and we can hire a nice car...just dont want the £/$ go down too much more - as it will over the next 2 months
There certainly is a lot of choices to make
Think I'l wait for our son to start walking and then go on a much longer haul holiday (I mean 10 hours plus) - should be in the next 6 months, so gives me more time to look over everything
I must admit I do like areas like North Devon, cycled from South Devon to North Devon a couple of years ago and went through some really nice places.. ended up in Woolacombe - great place (views are stunning if you cycle in from the Caravan parks side at the other end of the beach on the far left) but its a bit run down and to rent an ok place costs a fortune..
Dave - let me know where you end up on your review of places in Orlando.. £1200 for a couple of weeks is very nice
For the last 2 years we've been to Cape Town and rented a nice place in Camps Bay for ourselves and the family... and then the parents need to be more looked after than the kids ;-)

Maybe I'm old fashioned.
But with modern busy lifestyles, holidays are a time when we are together without the hassle and stresses of everyday normal life.
Appreciate we are not all the same.....just IMHO etc etc.
