Mark, for what it's worth, I have used no cable ties, just the bolts that came with it, and I've caught it many a time and it hasn't falled off!
But! Cable ties are better in that if you catch it and it pulls the bumper then at least the cable ties will snap and not rip your bumper off

Hi guys, I'm currently running 310bhp through a standard uk box, but now with age the gearbox and diff are both getting noisy so I was thinking about a complete drive train change. I want to do something different that will improve my acceleration time and I'm not bothered about top speed as i rarely go past 80mph any way. I also want something with good diffs for the better mid corner full power traction (don't want the inside wheels spinning). So is the early type ra gear box a good idea or is there better?

Morning all
You may end up with the same probs simply replacing the box with another one, the way forward is to rebuild a spare classic sti box or even go newage 6speed

Cheers H. Only problem is the cost with the 6 speed option! Being a mechanic I can rebuild the box myself but even that would cost more than getting a second hand ra box! We will see what comes up!

morning all hope all is well...red scoob i personally would go near a early ra box there not that good your constantly changing gear and arent never getting the power down on the road go for a sti 4/6 box alot better ratio's than the uk and not as short as the ra boxes so you can use the power you have and also there stronger than the uk box go for the later boxes if you can just my opintion tho

Um very tempting Paul, good price too. Do you have the gearbox number just so I can look at what the ratios are and double check it's what I'm after.
