If you can walk the walk (i.e have the power) then there is the argument that you can talk the talk. Mine has Sti mudflaps, but that's only cause I liked the logo and plain mudflaps look a bit naff IMHO.

I wouldn't go so far as to re-badge mine though. The car's performance does the talking!

I wouldn't. Why make it out to be something it's not? Debadge if anything.

Why not put an sti badge on any Subaru including the WRX as the Uk Sti is an overpriced PPP WRX with better ,seats, intercooler, 6 speed, and brakes but a PPP/tuned wrx would save thousands and be as fast as a 265 bhp Sti .(perhaps a bit underbraked!)
Each to his own and remember that a Type Uk STi is a bit of a small brother to the Jap spec car.
It would be a bit naff to badge your car as an RB320 or WR1 or P1 as these are special editions and the best that Uk dealers have offered.
Everything else is commonplace and therefore an Impreza.

<<<<<<plus the pink badge doesnt go with red look

it would be a bit of a 'wannabe' thing to do. Like cutting an expensive hole in your roof for a rally roof vent and then pretending it's a Spec C

You obviously like the idea of showing your car is more than a standard WRX and why shouldnt you. Sounds like you've got a cracking car. I like the idea of having WRX335, a bit like having STI330. Makes it look like a special edition or something, (who knows its not with so many Impreza variants out there) either way it says you have a better than standard WRX.

You could try numbers like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Chrome-Look-Nu...#ht_2872wt_913

hardly expensive if you dont like it.

Exclamation wrx /sti

Well I collected my red 55 plate WRX this evening and am very pleased with it It's very, very quick car

It has been remapped with the following supporting mods

Afterburner backbox, center pipe and decat downpipe
Hks dumpvalve
k&n panel filter
VF35
Walbro fuel pump
Sti topmount
Sti pink injectors

it also had fitted genuine sti parts
gold brembos
full sti interior including seats doorcards steering wheel and prodrive gear ****
v8 spoiler
winglets
foglamp covers

The previous ownder has added an sti badge on the boot, and one in the grill, sti stickers on the mudflaps, sti stickers on the foglamp covers and the front doors as you do on the real thing.

Now I may take the one on the boot and mudflaps off but thinking to keep the stickers on the foglamp and doors as I feel it looks a bit plain without the stickers.

But is it wrong for me to badge a wrx up like this?
I've never been a fan of badging a car up as something it isn't but in this case, doesn't seem a complete lie, as it does have Sti bits and has the go too

What are your thoughts on this?
Will post some pics after I get it washed either tommorow or Sunday.
hi
isnt the gearing different?.also sti uk spec was detuned. sti and wrx ..night and day.youve got a good car there . ps i would not badge it up as an sti to be honest..

They vary so much it really confuses people... Mine is soon to be de badged, currently a faded AWD2000TURBO sticker on th back... slowly preparing for my 330 remap..lol

If it wasn't for the mudflaps (which came on the car) and type r badge people who aren't in the know wouldn't have a clue it was a sti (from the back anyway ) and it wouldn't bother me!
I would just leave it and when a smug evo owner thinks he'll wipe the floor with your "wrx" you can wipe that smile off his face

Personally i think you should leave it std, and as it is in red other Scoob owners ( if they know there stuff) will know it's a wrx. Also did the sti not have a 6 speed box.
More importantly if you were to have a smash,or have it stolen the insurance company might argue the toss that it appears to be a group 20 sti, rather than a group 17 wrx. There have been cases in the past where insurance companies have failed to pay out ,as the car had a boost gauge fitted on the A pillar , they said it was in his line of vision, when he had an accident whilst turning right into a side road.

Ok so a spec c in red ok, and a group 19 insurance, your missing my point , insurance companies will do what they have to to , to avoid paying out, and a potential thief might find the car more appealing if they think it is an sti opposed to a wrx.

I e-mailed a local "specialist" dealer to point out that his STI was a WRX upgrade...

If you bought one, you'd be rightly p*ss*d off if it was actually a WRX ?

dunx

P.S. I'm not actually that bothered by the practise (spl ?), as the first corner they come to the lack of brakes will make it obvious...

Why not get one of the "16v" badges off of a citroen saxo VTR that seem to get stuck onto every other car... that'll have them guessing
