I'm sure most Fathers would be able to raise £100k if you thought the life of one of your kids was at risk.
It's a sad time when you can be suspicious of a parent with a kidnapping.

I don't doubt that for one minute, that last comment wasn't aimed at any poster, just a remark about the times we live in that you could even consider that a parent is capable of this kind of thing.

I think the whole situation is more than a little suspect - I dont think it will be long before at least one memeber of the family is arrested

Times we live in?
People have been abusing their kids and exploiting them since time began. Media has just improved exponentially in the last 20 years (internet, global news crews) so people are more aware of it happening, that's all.

It's a good news story for a change.
I bet if you needed to,you could get £100k off family and friends for an extreme event like a kidnap.
The stress on the father; to be accused of involvement when he was working with the police to trap the gang whilst his son was threatened is to be admired.

Glad to see the little boy is back with his family.

some of these comments are quite dissapointing.. a kid was kidnapped in what appears to be a genuine case and yet we have a mothers meeting going on on scooby net with sherlock holmes invited to find out and decide who officially done it lol..
guys you dont have the case file in front of you so you dont have the facts so your not in any form of a possition to be deciding whether its legit or not.. until proven guilty they are innocent which i believe the family is so stop the dectective work lads and lets all stick to the scoobs cos thats something we do actually know about instead of playing cluedo.
yes you can have your personal thoughts on the matter just like i believe the queen is a benefit grabbing ***** but in a case which involves a small child its always a bit sensitive. just my oppinion.

Wonder why you had to spoil it with the last paragraph though. Whatever you think of the Queen, calling her a ***** is a disgusting thing to say!

There's a news blackout on them, the Gov are trying to make it look like nobodies interested in the hope they'll just release them.

Oh and I find your comments about the Queen to be highly offensive and believe me, it takes a lot to offend me

I think since the Shannon Matthews case, the public have a bit of a right to be suspicious.
I don't think there's anything too dodgy going on here now, not since some unrelated people have been arrested.
Is it true about the couple who were kidnapped by the pirates? I think the pirates may be choosing their next captives from mainland Pakistan now!

It never actually occurred to me to wonder where the money did come from. I know he was said to have come back to UK before the lad was released and then must have gone back again. I am sure he did not nick from somewhere.
I still find that it does not concern me where the money came from, but I am very happy to see that the little lad is now free and safe again.

lol this was the exact point i was making in what i said.. when i mentioned the queen i mentioned something i can think but that i would not say, in other words i was giving an example of of something similar to how somone saying a family is guilty with out any evidence. so i wasnt actually trying to offend anyone if you understand what i mean but was just showing that sometimes you need to keep things to yourself like what i said about the queen. so relax guys this is my country and my views are my views but i was just making a point.. apologies if anyone was really offended.

well lets just wait for the police statement to clear things up for everyone telling us what went off, what they were doing and what the family were doing to help and where £100k in cash came from.

The family chose to put their young son in danger after probably settling in the UK and gaining British nationality. So rather than taking advantage of our civilised society, off they go back to the badlands of Pakistan on a jolly where kidnapp and murder is the norm.
The boy gets kidnapped and the family raise 100 grand at the drop of a hat, and lets realise that the mother works in Iceland, now the only person i know that was on that sort of money working for Iceland was that silly cow Kerry Katonia
Now i've always been in employment since leaving school and have earned decent money so far, but i could not afford to go jet setting around the world, and if i had a situation where i had to raise 100 grand tomorrow and my life depended on it, i admit i could not do it.
As a parent i would not put my family in danger if i had been given the opportunity to settle in a civilised country. And if anybody have made an attempt to kidnapp my son or daughter, lets just say there would be desperate people even more desperate because they would end up with their bollox in a sling.
Look at the Madeline case, these were supposedly inteligent professional people who chose to abandon their children, the things most precious
**** me, i won't even leave my Impreza in a supermarket car park never mind leave my kids alone in a strange country!
The whole situation is very suspicious, and i think it difficult to convey a balanced view and uncontroversial stance.
