The whole car looks sh1te. Not anti Focus - I like them, but that's been ruined.

The wheels spoil the first one for me, wheels can make or break the car

no, the wheels look good, might be too black, they would be better in dark antricite.
what spoild it for me is the style of number plate, it crys out.. 'police stop me' as it's not legal on a modern car, i think black silver plates are only legal on pre 1968 cars... or some year about then.

any more pix nathanb of his car?

i went from an 03 impreza sti to focus st and came back to a blob wrx.
was really happy with it until the snow came then it became one of worse i have driven.

when they loose grip (like most of the time in the snow) whether the traction control is on or off the noise it makes as it kicks in on ice is like someone has drop 20 spanners into the gearbox really makes the car feel cheap.

the alternators just cannot cope more so on the st3 with the heated leather wolf claim they are changed 5-10 a month through the winter.

wheels fall out of balance easy and cause steering to shake .

the bottom gearbox mount might as well be made off card board as there that weak
after driving for few weeks you will realise how clunky the boxes are when changing fast

the dual mass fly wheels dont last long

the driveshafts have too much end play and cause a clunk fords solution glue them which lasts 12 months ,volvo do sell some "anti ping" rubbers as they call them that help

liners do fail on the engine and oil filter diaphragm and if left can split the cam seals and leak oil over the belt.

reverse light switch fail.

oh and just wait for all the rattles inside

abs module fail all the above is happening regular between 2-4 years

all tho all mine ever cost me was a 12 quid reverse light switch and the st2 seats are one of the most comfortable i have ever sat in

there not a bad car and not trying to put you off just more aware .

i have come back to a 04 blob wrx with 6k on the clock and am far more happy with it

to be fair..... how many days of snow do we get in a year or over a 5-6 year period (if you keep your car 5-6years) this years/last xmas has been the worst since 1990.

What Tyres? just curious as everyone was moaning that RS's were crap in snow, until some bright spark fitted Winter tyres.

Blimey, you must have bought a dog, or are you just reporting on ALL the issues that "some" people have had? In which case, surely you could clump every single car EVER made with a similrr list of "faults", doesn't mean they all have them.

Had mine for 2 years now, 07 plate and it's been superb - no issues at all, no rattles even though it's lowered, no shaking steering, and absolutely no problem in the snow we had up here and I live on a huge hill!!

The only problem I do have is the clutch/DMF slipping, but that only happens when I have the 300bhp DS map on with my other mods and not as std so I can't really blame Ford for that one.

They don't feel as good as a BMW inside, but then they shouldn't, but overall they are fantastic to own, apart from the MPG issues - getting a bit tired of £54 of fuel only getting me 210 miles now.

had my st3 facelift for 6 weeks now running 300bhp,,
Clutch is slipping under load on the higher gears but can expected
Putting an rs2 1 in,,
No rattles, No probs at all,
#Best car i have owned,,
Yes the mpg is not brill around 22mpg average but coming from a 520bhp evo its seems decent
Toyo 888;s on it next , then a few sprints,,
The st3 seats are perfect

toyo r were fitted which worked well it was the torque goin to the front wheels that cause the issue .
dont get me wrong car never failed or cost me anythin other than a 12 quid switch despite what ever you lot keep telling yourself there front wheel drive and have there limits.
driving like a grandad there great on fuel but soon as you try to have some fun that fuel gauge drops quick.
yes all of that i wrote is alot of people issues but they seem to be popping up way too often and if your spending that type of money its good to know.

brought mine with 24k on clock
i dont regret buying one at all as nice to say i had one but would i buy another no!

I've just been out in the 225BHP 2009 Ford Focus ST3.

I was very impressed. Real smooth car to drive as you would expect from an almost new motor. Also to be expected very quiet compared to my scoob but with a sweet exhaust note under boost! I was most impressed with the torque. This car pulled very well making my scoob feel very sluggish on the drive home. The handling also was very solid and didnt feel in any danger of losing grip even though its only FWD.

What I did love was all the gadgets, again making my car look and feel prehistoric. Push button start, sat nav, USB port in between front seats, gauges everywhere etc etc.

I think i may be taking a break from Subaru's very soon although I wont be surprised if one day in the future I rekindle my love for the Scoob, after all its been a part of my life for 5 years over 2 different Impreza's.

Just thought I'd share my experience
Exactly my experience mate
