However, the way home when it's much later, roads are a lot clearer and there is a 'B' road 6 mile section back home. All depends on weather/traffic/if I'm late for tea!!
Present tank has covered 166 miles from full to just above 1/4 full now. So I would guess I'll reach 215 miles before a fill up this time.
I'll let you know after the 'ring run how far I get on the autobahns when driving with RS4's!!!

320 miles on the last tank ![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Couple of upgrades since the pics were taken (I'll get some more done shortly!):
Tein SuperStreet Coilovers with top mounts
Tein EDFC
HT Autos Front Splitter
Prodrive Genuine Mudflaps
Harness Bar
Going on next week - Turbosmart eBoost controller - should get me +5 mpg on low boost!

car looks mint,
mines a standard GB270 and im only getting 200 to a tank and thats virtually all motorway driving, im yet to crack the 240miles per tank barrier... as EAndy i may have to ease off the pedal a bit too

The higher the boost your turbo produces the more heat generated, so you'll get higher air charge temps, which will reduce power and if they get to hot can lead to engine failure. The hawkeye wrx tmic is at the limit now with 340 bhp and a sti tmic would be the best option. I'm running 340 bhp & 380 lbft and have gone fmic as I was still getting high charge temps with prolong use of high boost even with a tmic off a spec c.
Get a air charge temp gauge off Harvey who's a trader on here, you'll be suprised how hot the temps get.

Thanks for the mention Stu and the ACT guage is certainly very useful and a lot can be learned from it. (£85 posted) However I am a little surprised by the comments regards the need for a front mount on a Hawkete WRX around 350 bhp. I am the Hybrid Techmical Adviser and Pro Installer so I want to sell as many FMICs as possible but only where required. I have not monitored Hawkeye WRX ACTS but on a UK WRX/STi 2003 with 340 bhp ish and ACT guage fitted, I took the view that TMIC temps measured at the joiner between intercooler and throttlebody, temperatures were acceptable. With a little more power a front mount would be on the list along with a bigger turbo and injectors but it could live OK at that power level with the TMIC. ACTs were up to 20 over ambient when pushed hard but below that level the expenditure on an FMIC may be marginal.
What sort of temperatures were you seeing?

Hi Harvey. The temp was taken the same at the silicone joiner between ic and throttle body. I was getting 20+ above ambient on a short blast and 30+ above ambient when pushed hard. That was with a sti tmic, vf43 Turbo and running 1.5 bar boost. Everything seems to run hotter on these 2.5's

Good observations Stu. Yes everything does run hotter on the later cars so heat management is that much more important. Once you start getting 20 degrees over ambient and above there is a clear case for fitting a front mount and for every 4 degrees centigrade reduction in charge temperature you pick up 1% power so there is plenty scope to make it worthwhile.
