Starts to get a bit costly when you want to go further than we are now. I'm saving for a new clutch kit now

Hopefully I'll get up round 300 when mine's mapped. Question, is there a lot of messing around in fitting an STI8 intercooler? Any mods needed? I know of one for sale, and could add that into the mix too.

Very nice, just need the injectors changing to optimise that turbo

Apparently you can get a set of flow matched 565's from Lateral for £220

I like to think my well serviced green 99 wagon is around 230ish with prodrive rear box and centre decat replaced with h&s maybe? what else do you think I need to get 280bhp mark safely? I'm getting a new exceedy clutch next month I hope - was the lightened fly wheel worth it do you think?

the flywheel was well worth doing as its recommended to fit a new flywheel when having clutch replaced,if your oe flywheel is worn it will probably give you a new juddery clutch.i very much doubt by having a prodrive backbox and a decat centre that your car will be 230 ish. u really need to get rid of your first cat in the downpipe by using a decat or sports cat downpipe.then with a remap as long as tour td04 oem turbo is good you find find yourself running approx 250bhp with probably a bit more torque.mine only made 238/280 on the td04 as it was probably tired out,u may just get 280 out of the td04 with quite a few supporting mods.best bet is to get it on the rollers and have it remapped and see what happens.i certainly have no regrets whatsoever about changing turbo.you have a little way to go to hit 280,but the 99 car is good to mod and can be done on a tight budget.

Std down pipe has to go. This is one of the biggest things that is restricting things at the moment. But once you start doing these things you will really need to get it remaped to suport what you have done as if you don't you will firstly not feel the gains and secondly could find that the car will not run right. A guy in the Bucks scooby crew has the 99 wrx wagon and with the help of a unichip, 440's full decat, and induction kit and vf35 has just hit 310 bhp and runs like a dream.( a wet one in his eyes lol).
