I wouldn't ignore your post Jack, this thread is about you.

If HTC were to stand still and just bring a new slightly upgraded phone out every year, would that be ok. The fact they bring new handsets out may make them outdated compared to the latest HTC phone but not compared to say an iPhone which could be year old technology.
I think the point of Android is that its open to all for development and this is what will make it successful. HTC have designed a brilliant UI to go with quality hardware. I personally don't see a problem if they put 10 new phones to market this year my Desire will still be more current than the iPhone.
Are you happy with the Intel processor in your MBP? There's another good example of a company thats constantly striving to stay at the top. I wonder how many models were developed between the dual core and I3/5/7's. I bet its hundreds and how many iboys have been made to wait for an I3 powered machine that will soon be old hat, in Intels world anyway.
Re the table:
Did you just knock that up on excel its quite different to the data I found and posted earlier and Snazy posted yesterday.
You mentioned medievel, maybe give the future a chance, try an Android, try an HTC for a week or two. It may not tie in to all your istuff as well as an iPhone does but, as a stand alone phone I doubt you could knock it.

BTW Where's Sal got to lately? She absolutely loves her new Desire.

I like the Desire MMT, there's still a gap between the HTC UI and the Android operating system that grinds on me but I'd get used to it. The synchronisation with my Mac, PC and Car would annoy me as I'm used to seamless. It's years ahead of earlier versions that even though they pretended they didn't, needed a stylus, so going in the right direction.

As for your Intel argument I have a first generation Intel Macbook that I have no intention of upgrading after four years use, no need, the hardware and software still work perfectly together just like the iPhone. The iMac that I'm using right now is first generation Intel, probably five years old, I've just upgraded to a whole 2gig of memory, it's like a new machine. Friends have been through three or four PC's in that time and still have a dog of a machine. Buy cheap buy twice.

After watching a program about kids dying in Africa due to our hardware upgrades I'm even further against monthly hardware updates, poor little children.

The HTC Incredible will not be available in the UK as the Incredible is branded and made for Verizon in the USA.

Bloody shame that, bit annoying that we in the UK don't get the best available, I can imagine the outrage if Apple decided not to launch the next version of the iPhone here. Still, it's probably saved a few African children.

Nevermind the African kids, what about all the eskimos and seals you killed with 2, 24 hour flights in 7 days lol.

Im personally glad we dont get some of the stuff from the US market, some of it is hidious.

I see another 4G has made it to Vietnam

As for the names, they are getting a bit dodgy now, maybe its time to go back to numbers or something. Oh I know how about christian names instead. The HTC Dave

You've just won the debate there Jack.
I'm terrible for wanting the very latest most up to-date but it has to stop. I have one PC with all our business stuff on that's about 8 years old and I'm desperate for it to die, I've even set a NAS up so its not to stressful when the day comes. I have another with Ubuntu, a new Quad core XPS and laptop and I can't remember the last time any of them were switched on.
I plan on getting a Mac myself soon (there I've said it) Swiss kindly sent me a very thorough pm re: Mac ownership do's and don'ts and my next machine will be either a MBP or 24" iMac. In fact I feel a trip to Meadowhall coming on already.

The 27" iMac is a beast, if you could use two mice two people could use one.
