Jeeeez, it's not rocket science but seems above the wit of most scooby owners.
You turn up at a tuning shop, they have 2 IDENTICAL cars, identical meaning they are exactly the same, same everything even down to the wear on the front brake discs.
Car A started life as an STI
Car B started life as a WRX/GL
What premium would you be prepared to pay for car A over car B?
me personally, I'd rather the WRX/GL because it seems that all the STIs are driven by idiots who cannot fathom the simple answer to a simple question

I've seen a man try to make a WRX better than an STI, all he got were a broken dog box and a split diff housing. O.K. not quite 500 bhp but you get my drift.
If it is a full house 500 bhp car, then there is no perceived value in a three letter badge.
IMHO
dunx (STI)
P.S. LOL at the leading answer....

i would go for the car registered as an sti simply for peace of mind and because i wouldnt have to worry about explaining the bloody mix up and correct details to the next owner when i come to sell it on.

Very good poll from the OP
I was thinking go STI, (if they are both the same price) for the plain fact a modified STI to 500bhp sounds less radical than a 2.0GL modded to 500bhp.. even though they are identical in the parts I know... You have to remember, a 500bhp 2.0GL will always be worth less than a 500bhp STI.. (People will always go for what they think is the best deal... correct or not) so if you ever want to sell it on... your money's better spent on the STI

^^ Er why, which is the point of the OP's post? Identical spec means identical spec. The WRX / GL owner may well have spent more money, true, however that's of no concern to a potential new purchaser assuming both cars are priced the same (they should be). You'd pay more for the STi badge on the boot etc would you

is it me or are ppl making a big thing out of this.
you have 2 cars identical and not much is standard between them. yes the orginal sti maybe worth more. but i would choose the wrx.
what does it matter. its not as if its a basic sti and a basic wrx. they are identical and the badge aint worth that much (£2.50 on ebay)
use the money for fuel or track time
