NI First Minister loses his seat
Peter Robinson, Northern Ireland First Minister loses his seat to Naomi Long, the lord mayor of Belfast. He had held this seat for over 30 years. Guess his political career is now over as his position is now untenable. His woes just seem to get worse.
guess his constituents didnt like his (or his wife's) moves outside the political area. both a pair of self servicing, underhand, morally corrupt, thieving, lying *******.

What a pathetic showing for the Tories .... can't even form a Government!! 
After the worst economic meltdown in history, despite standing against a one eyed scotsman, despite throwing money at it, despite their private educations ... they cannot defeat Labour.
It's a damning result for Cameron, worse for Clegg - and pretty good (considering) for Brown.
They should all resign, elect one Leader who will lead a coalition and move forward.
I do suspect, however, that we will be voting again in October 2010!
All the results are not in yet - so, lets not get ahead of ourselves ... but, really, no-one can claim victory, it's a shambles.
I think that Brown will cling on - it's in his nature.
So, it's STILL Brown!

Cameron has failed to win over the country, so has Clegg ... Brown is the steady hand on the tiller.
Lib-Lab pact like in 1974 (which I remember very well indeed) ... Vince Cable for Chancellor, Brown remains as PrimeMinister I guess is the logical outcome?

Pete, you rattle on about their education all the time..... are you trying to say that going to a world famous school that opens many doors for you is worse than being a dumb-arsed chump with no education?

All a bit of a constitutional train wreak. We end up with the same tired, incompetent as PM and the price of keeping him in power will be more preferential treatment for the Scots and Welsh - when they already have their own parliaments anyway.

The Tories should have been banging on about how cr*p Labour are every time there was any sort of bad news. But CMD wanted to be all 'touchy feely' and run a 'positive' campaign. The politics of 'consensus' and all that crud. Well look where it's got him!But then I hope that Flash does stay on because it'll mean he has to sort out his own sh*t and the country will wake up to how bad Labour have really been. Plus get CMD to guarantee an EU referendum and get rid of illegals and he'll walk it. But it ain't gonna be pretty in the meantime. Flash will have to be dragged out from No. 10 kicking and screaming by the men in white coats!

how do you work that out?? Brown / Labour lost 90 ish seatsCameron / tories gained 90 ish seats Clegg was the nowhere man.

Clegg was never going to win .... we all knew that. I did expect him to do better.
The fact that the Tories cannot form a Government is a disgrace and Cameron should resign!

So the great and the good on SN who thought DC was god and GB Labour party were in for a trouncing.
1. Why did you get it so wrong
2. Why are you not in touch with public opinion
3. Is it anything to do with driving ugly cars and being slightly eccentric
4. Is it buying second hand Jap imports that make your thoughts slightly off centre
5. Should you fit a knocklink
6. Should you have never got your petrol at Tesco without a £500 rermap
