I've met quite a few Muslims TBH and find them to be quite anti social, local corner shop next to me is owned by a Muslim, one day I was getting change from him and my hand touched his, he whipped his hand away from me and picked up a towel to clean his hand like I had the plague, I'm thinking he just couldent handle touching a white guy lol
He probably thought who is this infidel gay white man trying to touch my hand..maybe he is gay, trying to rape me. Uh...let me me wipe the sins off my hand

i find your stereotypical views of white western men to be offensive. please take issue with yourself and dont presume to be holier than thou when upbraiding anyone else on this forum. your hypocrital attitude a just strengtened my view that you are all zealots, closed minded with no care or thought about the adopted country you live in, it's customs, practices, religious beliefs or values.

I Shake hands everyday with all types of people Its good practise to wash hands Afer shaking hands with lots of people as you spread germs. I don't get it why should he wipe his hands after touching you accidently
. The only thing I can think off you must of been dirty or full of sweat otherwise it just doesn't make sense?? Is that the only Muslim you met?

That's weird I shake hands with all my clients and I wash my hands quite often for example if I'm having a *** eating or every now and then it's good practise to wash your hands. But wiping his hands that's silly I'm sure he wouldn't do that to offend you as he is only trying to run a business. So I really can't see the point???

http://muslimvoices.org/shaking-hands-muslim-world/
My g/f had an experience not too dissimilar a few weeks ago where a Muslim man refused to shake hands so I asked a mate who's a Muslim to which he replied
"Islam, as do most religions, has a law for mankind that identifying acts that are prohibited and those that are permissible. It goes further to discourage man from not only committing such acts, but not even approaching them, as in not being involved in any action or putting oneself
in an situation that could lead to the committing of that which is prohibited.
One of the things prohibited is sex outside marriage and hence all acts that could possibly lead to one committing this act are prohibited. This includes, staying alone in private with a woman who is not your wife, and touching a woman who is not your wife.
The same also applies to the woman.
As to why some Muslim people do abide by these teachings and some do not, is due to social pressures and a differing level of faith. In a non-muslim country such as Australia, the cultural normal is for men and women to shake hands and some bow to the pressure. In a Muslim country shaking of hands between the sex's is very rare because its not the social norm but you still have the western influence and again the differing levels of faith of belief and desire to abide to the law."
Seems it depends on the Muslim and their degree of faith...

If anyone finds any specific posts offensive - you have the RTM button. Please highlight the post and explain why you find it offensive.
There's been some near the line banter going on from several people (on each side of the debate) I haven't personally found anything that stands out as thread closing worthy or infractionable (is that a word?)
I am willing to be proven wrong though.

Incidentally - just to add. People have complained about over-zealous moderating in the past, and on this occasion we have people crying wolf with regard to insulting posts.
We walk a fine line with this, where do we draw the line between freedom of expression and censorship?
As said - please RTM (Gods help me... it's gonna get swamped in there) any posts you find offensive and clearly explain why - non-inflammatory speech preferred.

I totally agree but it is not entirely one sided with regards to insults and stupid comments.
