imho all religeon is a load of nads based on books written 1000s of years ago . a few examples of how religous leaders have tryed to update said books to apply to modern life

at then end of the day they all interprit the books different ways in a effort to make them more modern , in a modern society that should be tollerant of each other and keep beliefs inside closed doors not try to ram it down the throats of all supposed NON BELIEVERS

Back on the topic of the SP episode. It's been said by Matt and Trey that Comedy Central, who aired it in the US, beeped out the references, it wasn't some ironic thing they did themselves and they don't seem overly happy about it.
CC is obviously scared they'll get some nutjob going durka durka jihad on them.
Not all muslims are nutters, just as not all irsh are thick, but it's always the minority that is picked up on by people and the press and thus the mainstream view is warped.

You are trying to take what I said out of context, it was referring to some of the comments earlier in thread and people views on the followers of Islam.There was no differentiation made between the extermist and the law abiding follower, which are two completely different things!

If you don't believe in a religion etc. that is entirely up to you, but that does not give you an automatic right to be offensive towards those who do.
What would you be trying to prove anyway?

And as for how people are brought up...
All through primary school and high school I had a friend who was a Muslim. He prayed 5 times a day or whatever and his parents were pretty strict. I sat beside him in a class in high school when we were probably 17 or so... so getting old enough to think more like adults than kids. I was asking him about how important allah was to him and he said that if he thought allah wanted him to, he'd have no question about killing his whole family, in the name of allah. He was deadly serious.
This is how naive a lot of followers of Islam are. I mean, these are the parents who brought him up and the only reason he believes in/follows Islam. So it's purely a matter of chance that he believes what he does so strongly. Again, this is something he has no proof of, it's just belief in his head, and he was told to think that by his parents. Had he been born to a Italian catholic family he would have thought that was the only valid religion instead. With that in mind, what is the point in spending your whole life being miserable and oppressed for no reason? It's all about controlling the masses and getting them to one way of thinking that makes the people at the top's life easier and means they can get what they want without their inadequacies getting in the way.
Do you not see how ridiculous and not in any way insulting it is to be called idiots by people like that?

To be told "this is how it is so just live with it", whether it's about religion or anything else, and to stifle discussion, is dangerous - we are intelligent people and we should be allowed to act as such.

My understanding of the conflict on the Pakistan/Afghanistan border is that it was triggered by the Islamic extremists' attack on America during the events of 9/11 when a number of Muslims committed suicide and took thousands of civilians with them in the name of their/your god.

. I'm not so bad, a bit crocked with sciatica but okay. sorry I had Iraq in mind when I responded. The 11/9 situation (I can't do with the American back to front format) that's another can of worms. Now I'm not very religious by any stretch of the imagination but I do know killing innocent people is wrong, end of. These nutters hell bent on creating havoc, if only they could martyr themselves without hurting innocent people
