rs scooby - you need to find out what version of the TD05H you have. For your power goal you need the 16g (quickest spool for the required bhp). If it is an OEM early 16g with the upswept intake, then you'll need to get it modded to accept your MY99 straight entry intake set-up...
Can't you post some pics up of it, so we can try to identify it?
(bigsinky, he has a MY99 so ESL solution not available for his car. His car already has an OEM EcuTek-able ECU as std
).

the 20G (if its a genuine 20G) is overkill in my opinion. as you say better with the spool of a 16G if modest power gains are the OPs goal.

I don't think he says anywhere that he does have a 20g
(unless I've overlooked) ![Ponder2](images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
In fact, I've asked 3 times, but no response.
But to be fair to the chap, he can't necessarily be expected to know... hence the request for some pics of the blower.

my mistake, you are right. he mentions td05, but you ask if its a 16g or 20g. seeing your reply probably made me think he had a 20g.

as i have said it is not the buying of the car thats the problem, it the upkeep thats the bitch. if you are happy enough with a standard subaru, they can be picked up for peanuts now. £1500 will get you a 93 or 94 WRX. The uk cars are a bit dearer but not by much. If you are happy with the 214BHP out of the box then your laughing, but after a while most aren't and want some more power. this is when the problems start.
A classic shape car is the most expensive way to make power. it just doesnt have the right parts to make decent power. even to go to 300BHP can cost. there are so many things that you need to buy and some of them aint cheap. with £500 or £1000, it may sound like a lot to some people but in subaru terms (i am sorry to say) it is a tear in a salty sea. it won't get you very much and people become disillusioned with the whole subaru experience.
