I would be a'baize'd if he gets out of this with any reputation at all, he is snookered as far as I can see. I think he'd rather be shot out of a canon than face the media. Maybe due a rest and a big break from the game.

I have no idea whether he is telling the truth but what I would say is if he had suspicions about meeting mafioso, why didn't he report it straight to the WPBSA as soon as he was out of the "threatening situation" where he was fearful for his safety. It doesn't add up

Higgins didn't look very concerned that there maybe a canon or even a plant in the pocket to me. Difficult to see from the camera angle though.
