I have an awful feeling we'll end up with a Labour/lib-dem government.
Labour want to tax us next year and have made this country into a laughing stock and Mecca for every immigrant in the world to come to for free money/healthcare/eduction/benefits. Hell, even a Polish man can come here, work, and be entitled to claim benefits to send back to Poland.
Lib-dems? Want to welcome 1.2m Immigrants into the country, get them on Benefits, give them a roof over their heads, disarm Britain so we get pushed about by France. Worse still, they are desperate to get us to join the Euro, and will Tax more than any other party.
Tories? Get rid of Labour over spending on red tape and Quango's, stop Labours NI tax rise, promised to keep the Pound, get lazy benefit living scum off benefits, by taking money away if they refuse a job. Get rid of Tax credits for those who really don't need them. If you can't bring up a child on £50k a year, you really shouldn't have children.
No brainer to me. Come on the Tories. Need a landslide victory though.

Not true.
A lot of people will/are being hit by the Inheritence tax sinse house prices rose at record levels.
I bet many people on here would be hit by it if their parents died. Why should their house be sold just to pay a Tax bill?
Work hard, save, and do the right thing? Good, we'll Tax you for it.
I'll admit, the £1m inheritence would benefit me and my sister. But my dad has worked hard, made something for himself and his family. Why shouldn't he be allowed to pass his hard work onto his children?

And he paid income tax on his earnings so why should those earnings be taxed a second time?

Can't count any chickens yet, it is too close according to the polls.
Before voting for Clegg and his bunch it is worth reading their manifesto so that you realise what they really stand for. You might get a nasty shock. Above all you could expect to be federated to the Eu, change to the Euro, and lose any form of democracy that we still have. That is a fate that everyone would regret except the ones with obscenely paid sinecures in the Federation!

Cutting back on public sector waste is surely a good thing and certainly part of the answer though, wouldn't you agree?

This is what the Tories are wanting to address. Labour spend £300m a year just on Quango's.
Police spend more time writing reports than fighting crime.
Hospitals have more managers than ever before. Why? Labour invested money into the NHS, which was a good thing. But all that happened was Doctors were awarded £250k a year wages, and managers were taken on to manage the managers. barmy.
Most of the wasted money though, goes on supporting work shy scum and immigrants. Isn't it fact now that we give out more in benefits and tax credits, than we actually make in income tax?

Last person to ask questions of our beloved PM was a pensioner who was then called a "bigot" by said beloved PM - perhaps a NL vote is a wasted vote

It doesn't matter what populist rubbish Clegg spouts, he's as transparent as they come. Would never vote for him in a million years. I had a lib dem guy phone the other day telling me how they're going to tax the bankers, etc. And that's meant to impress people?
Same with Labour... their policies are always about improving things as quickly as possible in the short-term, but don't take into account the implications that doing so will have in the long-term. That old simple idea of taking from the rich and giving to the poor has been tried, tested, and loved by certain people but it has failed every time. Then people complain that there's no money to keep improving the important stuff... I wonder why? It's spend spend spend, taking more tax from the people at the top... the people who's businesses provide new jobs and who need money to expand that business.

I don't know why people are slagging off Maggie..yes she was not as dynamic as some..but she got the job done..and didn't roll over to EU pressure.
She was the only pm "man" enough to try and tax these freeloaders with the poll tax... if you have a family of 11 in a 2 bed flat..then pay the council charge for 11 people, not for 2.. made sense to me.. only the spin doctors and free loaders who labeled it into an unfair tax.. resulting in the tories downfall...

The problem was the way her government implemented it, nothing to do with spin doctors and free loaders. Some of you have rose tinted memories.

It's a pity Cameron is stupid enough to be hung up about Clarke's pro Euro leanings as Clarke should be chancellor if they get elected tomorrow. Sadly that won't happen.
