Tim - extremely strong word of advice - you MUST (or already may be) stay and/or eat at the Scarlet hotel - took my cousin and his wife (plus my own wife!) there last week for good and it's probably Cornwall's best eaterie right now.
I spent a lot of time in the area as a lad - cracking beach.
Shout if any local info needed.
