Both my kids were born by caesarian, the first an emergency, the second planned. I wasn't allowed in for the first one because they were in such a hurry, but I sat in for the second. I felt queasy a couple of times, but the surgical staff made it clear they would just leave me on the floor if I passed out so I sucked it up and stayed conscious.

The wife's recovery seemed pretty much as they predicted - she was pretty tender for a couple of weeks and had to be very careful for 6 weeks or so (no driving, no lifting etc.) but after that she seemed to be back to normal and had no after effects.

Well folks, Monday of last week was the day - all went precisely to plan. I was sat by my wife's head as twin number one was born, then the anaesthetist asked if I would like to watch my second twin being born. It was a truly magnificent experience. Joshua was born at 12:24 and Ruby two minutes later at 12:26, weighing in at 6lb 4oz and 6lb 3oz respectively. Mrs T and the twins are both home and doing very well. Thank you so much to all who offered their experience and opinions on the process. Only one heart stopping moment (excuse the pun) where a long flatline bleep sounded, but it was only a warning that the drip bag to my wife needed to be changed.

Say hi to Joshua and Ruby, at two days old.

Congratulations! I'm not suprised that there was no room to move. Those two are well above average weight for twins!

Enjoy it all mate, the fun starts now.

they look just like my own twins mate im dead chuffed it all went to plan,1 of myn was breech until the first came out then amazingly turned round after the missis got rushed into the theatre to have c-sectoin,the labour was 42 hours and nearly passed out several times, and then three weeks of how should put it long nights followed, never been so tired in my life but all worth it,only trouble i can hardly tell myn apart now.oh and 1 was born at 11:45 and the other 12:10 so diffrent birthdays which they always play on and costs me double in parties

I'll bet that was the longest 25 minutes of your life

My two were 11 minutes apart which felt like a lifetime, however if Mrs SJ had got a move on our two would have been born on February 29th which would have saved me a fortune in parties and presents

I was about to post about C sections and realised I was too late and everything had gone well. So many, many congratulations to you both.

One positive about a C sections is that babies are delivered all pink and shiny unlike a natural birth where the journey can leave them battered and bruised and covered in ****e!!

Thank your lucky stars that you don't live in USA where it would cost you dearly or Africa say where you may have lost the kids and even Mrs T.

Well done. d
