Does it feel slack? You should be able to see in with a torch and make out whether it's on. If it's NOT on, and the box is suspect, you won't be able to disconnect engine from box.

No, you should put the bearing on the fork then push the fork to engage it in the clutch, otherwise the chances of getting it on the fork are low. Last time I did it that way the fork didn't engage properly (only on one tab) first press of clutch and it ripped the bearing apart and it all had to come apart again.

How do you remove the bearing?? As I tried to remove it and it was MAJORLY tight and didn`t want to break it.
The way we fitted it was to fit the fork to the bearing and move together then to fit the pivot, so fingers crossed its ok.
Tathan did you ever have a Vectra?? Just wondering as I bought a set of GSI wheels from a guy named Tathan in North Wales, and he used to be on Vectra-Sport, just wondering if it was you.

hi jim bob thanks for the heads up via tx yesterday about this i 100% know its not the engine its hydro lock as mike said you have had to fit your injectors as it was surplied without them its cranking ok with no sensors fitted so it wont fire any fuel in but soon as you get a signal from the crank sensor being fitted ect its triggering the fuel pump/injectors ect causing massive fuel to enter the bores and locking the engine it could be inncorrectly fitted injectors or a damaged o ring..
be very care full DO NOT keep attempting to turn the engine over till you have sorted this as you will damage the engine i.e bend a valve or sumit
get the other member who coming over to check it all out if he knows his stuff he tell yuu excatly what i have and able to sort it for you bud

I had a vectra once, many moons ago... Also had a Cav Turbo with ph1 GSI rims - was it them? I'm not on vectra sport but I'm an RC on Mig? In fairness, I don't think there's a proliferation of tathans so probably was me

I`ve redwards coming over and he seems pretty clue`d up in speaking via pm.
Bearing is really hard to pull out if you try and do it by hand and will probably come to bits too. Put a flat blade screwie in it and it should just flick out though.

UPDATE.
Redwards popped down in, and removed the coilpacks and the plugs.
The left drivers side plugs were fine and were normal, the passenger side plugs were fine but soaking wet with petrol, and I mean so wet lol.
Also with the plugs and cam/crank removed she turned over sweetly, skipped over without missing a heartbeat. Put the plugs back in, still turns nicely with cam/crank removed. Plug the cam/crank back in and back to how she was.
So new plugs, then get the injectors off and get them tested/cleaned.
Many thanks to Redwards for coming down in the driving rain, and putting my mind at rest.

Yeah thats what I`ve found with searching on here, everything gets "sorted" so newbies like me can`t find stuff. But ah well lol. Glad we have some tidy members on here that are happy to help out in both posts, and lending a hand.

Right Injectors are being removed tomorrow so I can take them to be ultrasonically cleaned and pressure and flow tested.
BUT.
I`m not 100% but think I`m missing the lower of the set of O rings. As I can only remember the ones in the red line being there, I remember the Orange lines being there, and the seals on the Yellow line as they stayed in the fuel rail on removal and were loose when refitting, and have found a fibre style one left in the old fuel rail. As I changed one at a time from one to the other I never really checked as I assumed (wrongly) that they were ok.
So will remove them tomorrow and take some pics, see what I`m missing then when clean see about getting some replacements.
Pic i found on Egay for illustration.
Standard.

Have new ones coming but they don`t include the ones in the cap or the flat looking type, above the bottom seal. If you have spares to donate they would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers fella, will deffo stick some on there when they go back in.
Gotta get these cleaned and flowed to see if they are ok or not first, pointless fitting them without knowing they are up to the job. I`ll end up getting uprated ones in time anyways, but want to make sure everything is done properly so I can actually use the car, instead of it being parked up and costing me loads.
Not too bad if its costing me loads when running lol.

I have a full selection here, you'll need to bring an injector over (or one of the o-rings so I can match it up) I also have molykote grease here which I used to seal 300bar air bottles.
