Classics more expensive than bugeye. Why?

Nothing wrong with a good classic, but most are well and truly spanked now.
Its hard enough finding a well looked after newage motor now as the bugeye's are pushing 12 years old, never mind a classic ;(
I think the mind set of most, including me is that a 2001+ STI offers soo much more than what a classic can offer straight out of the box, especially if the car in question is a "road car". I mean the 6 Speed box, AVCS, Simple power upgrades, Standard Mappable ecu, 8'000rpm, Brembo's, Semi forged engine, Comfort, modern trim, 350+bhp turbo's, **and then theres the JDM versions 2003+, well Twin Scroll, allegedly stronger engine, 8200rpm, EL headers if thats your thing
