My 3GS (on PAYG) is a year old on the 16th so I'll get O2 to unlock it then I'm definately going to sell it on and get a v4
The 3GS is the best phone I've ever owned. The v4 looks like it's addressed any minor quibbles I had with the 3GS (lack of flash for the camera etc).
I'm sure the 3GS with OS4 on it will be a very capable phone though!
I've never had any issues with the phone itself, but I don't have the same love for iTunes.

I'll probably take advantage of all the 3GS's going on sale and upgrade to one of those from my 3G. I only want to do that for the multi tasking in OS4 which the 3G wont be able to do. Depends though just how much the 3GS prices drop to and how much I can sell my 3G for as I wont spend a fortune in changing and certainly not going to buy iphone4 and go back on £35 a month again.

Phone threads on this forum are always amusing, Apple announce ground breaking achievements and the antifanboys stamp their feet claiming you don't need them or they're a waste of money, until that is HTC, Google or Microsoft use the same tech in their phones then of course that's fine.
If you want to be at the forefront of technology and usability then go with Apple for your mobile device, if you want it cheap, free even then wait a while and the other might catch up. I say might as I can assure you that your HTC Desire is no way near as good as my 3GS in many, many areas.
Snazy, Apple not only reinvented Video calling, they reinvented Glass! How cool is that!!

Jack, you're gonna get stomped on for those sorts of comments.
iphone 4 has a brilliant display and, arguably better than OLED, but there are android AMOLED screens and the resolutions will very soon match iphone 4.
there is already a 1.2ghz snapdragon - faster than apple's A4
iphone is not just about tech. it's about bringing a simple and effective user experience and application base along with the phone.
in reality, I think android is getting very good and will be better than iOS4 by the next incarnation.
will the app base catch up? I doubt it. apple have way more market share than android and, as such, the app base will only increase to stay ahead of android.
this phone isn't revolutionary but, for me a 3G owner, it is

It's very amusing though, I think I've made a few lose their hair on this forum.
Luckily Steve only mentioned a few of the new features of the iPhone and iOS, I have a load of ammo if anyone fancies firing off a shot.

I'm certainly going to wait until we get some in the office before making a final decision. I'm not certain that the 4 does much that I cannot already do with my 3GS, plus my 3GS will be able to run iOS 4. For me it means more work, as we'll have to make sure things are compatible with the new OS, however, the new retina display will be a boon for reading books

Here's an idea. Why dont all the people who like Apple products and have an iphone and like it, carry on reading through the thread to see all the new features coming at the end of this month.
And for all the rest of you winging tossers, who cant understand that your blackberry, android whatever handsets are poor imitations and cant grasp why in the news Apple products are featured but you rarely see a glimpse of the new one from HTC or Google etc....just **** off![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
And that goes for certain people who have signal issues ...we all do regardless of what handset we have . This is just for you ------------>![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
My 3G 16Gb in perfect nick complete with case and docking station will be on ebay in a few weeks time
And for all the rest of you winging tossers, who cant understand that your blackberry, android whatever handsets are poor imitations and cant grasp why in the news Apple products are featured but you rarely see a glimpse of the new one from HTC or Google etc....just **** off

I have a question for those in the know.
I currently run my 3g on 3 network (free unlimited internet and texts for £25 a month!!!) when I buy an iPhone 4, and I will end up with one, how do I get around the microsim thing?
Do all networks provide a microsim or will I need to change networks?

Out of interest, who was right and wrong about expected spec?
Anything missing that people were hoping to see, or anyone get the nail on the head with spec.

I love the sheep and fanboy comments as it seems to me that certain people always have to have the opposite to what does well i.e. Im cool as Ive got something different. At the end of the day most people dont give a crap about most of the geeky tech specs.
Ill be honest. I use mine for calls, text & games mostly. So the endless list of mini games is what wins it for me. That and my mrs gets me 30% off with 02.
Mines up for renewal in Oct so I will probably get a 4 as will cost nothing to upgrade if flogging old one on Ebay.

A worthwhile upgrade from my 3G, but will depend on what deals o2 will be offering. I'm due an upgrade in August/Sept so hopefully the rush will have settled down by then.
Gotta love all the anti apple ****e that follows these threads. If Android phones were as good as iphones the demand would be higher and the proce would reflect that.
That you can get them free says it all really.
Everyone I know with an iphone (and there are many) has no other apple products. they have iphones because they like how they work, look, feel.
Perhaps rather than "sucking the media dick" and believing all the ****e that is blogged and put into print by saddos with anti Apple agendas as fact, the "anti fanboys" should actually man up and get their own opinions
