There were interesting rumours going round that Jobs' hand was forced by the leaked prototype and some of the features weren't initially intended to be released on this generation...

You see that is the kind of statement that proves what people say about some iphone users in that they think they're better than others. Like it's some kind of status symbol rather then a brilliant device.
It is the users people have problems with on this forum not the iphone, some will not accept the phone does and most probably always will have flaws. And that the mentality of some that they want it so bad when it offers not that much more to user experience than the iphone they already have.
The "anti fanboys" as you call them appreciate different phones and their qualitys without trying to slag off any other phone!
Some people come across as truly pathetic in the god like status they put on their beloved iphone. Wether they are or not in their everyday life is another matter, all this is in my opinion of course.
I'm a lover not a hater

Both are perfectly fine supermarkets. The OP said it comes down to money, he mentioned nothing of the spec requirements etc. Just like shopping at Aldi over Waitrose.
For the record, I own an iPhone 3GS and a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I also have a T Mobile HTC android something or other sitting in a drawer at work too.
Ive also been known to frequent Aldi from time to time

I disagree, the OP was stating it comes down to money and thats exactly what my shopping analogy does.

If people upgrade just for the sake of it then yes i agree, it's a case IMO of just doing it because you can afford to and no other reason that they must have the latest bit of kit.
My point is that a lot of iphone users are very blinkered, but then people that point this out are haters of the iphone which most on here are not. Jack Clark for instance is arrogant in his response to people most of the time and sounds like an Apple press release in 99% of the things he says

Just read this on the BBC site and thought it worth posting for the new friend I made earlier in the thread LOL

Particularly it was this quote that caught my attention:
Seems I was right all along.... Baa baa baaa baaa

Particularly it was this quote that caught my attention:
Now I am writing this from a business park on the fringes of Oxford, a place where you might expect to have great connectivity. Yet my phone tells me that it is struggling to get any kind of signal, yet alone the 3G I need to make use of its advanced capabilities.
Now that might be due to the fact that I'm currently using an iPhone 3GS, a device which is notoriously bad at getting a phone signal - it's a nifty little computer, but surprisingly poor at making calls. That is something which Apple promises to remedy with the new antenna on the latest model.

From the same blog
Cherry picking your quotes isnt really working for you
But even my mobile broadband dongle on a different network is barely managing to get my laptop online. Across the UK, and not just in remote areas, people using all kinds of devices on all sorts of networks are still grumbling about the struggle to get connected.
Of course the problem is that 10 years after we were promised that 3G phones would let us roam the web, make video calls and play online games on the move, we have all started to use these capabilities with a vengeance. And it turns out that the networks aren't ready for all that traffic.

Working for me just fine thanks. It is, as ever, you who seems to have the problem.
Just read the quote I posted. Even you can understand what it says I reckon. Well maybe.

Think the degeneration of this thread sums up why scoobynet is getting less popular by the day.
The place is being taken over by ******** getting upset about feckin phones and those who enjoyed it for what it was have lost patience and quite rightly left.

Goign back to F1, and swisstony's signal 'debate'
In the shop i work at i have had numerous complaints from people who have just upgraded to iPhones and they have noticed the signal is significantly worse.. BUT at the same time when Orange(who i work for) released the iPhone, their network (same with all other networks) was not ready for the demand of data usage, and it has crashed in my local area about 6 times in a 4 month period.
The device is only as good as the network it runs on, and every network in reality has a crap network for mobile internet. So really the networks need to be stronger in my opinion, not the phones need to be improved.

The iPhone 4 is in stores June 24th, in order to fulfill that level of demand there has been months of production and weeks of logistics and shipping to get ready, the final model would have been signed off some time ago I would imagine.
The WWDC was always going to be the launch of the iPhone 4 regardless of leak.

I made the comment many months ago now and was told I was talking crap yet I know what I can see with my own eyes. Now as the iPhone4 is released even Apple admit it has antenna changes to improve the reception and all of a sudden every Tom, Dick and Harry starts reporting the 3Gs has signal strength and reception issues.... told ya so!!

I think you'll find it's more to do with people being prepared to whine about existing content rather than creating something of interest.

Its just it seems like an obsession with a lot of iphone owners, its like they have to have the latest release regardless of whether its value for money or whether the phone is a significant leap in technology from the previous version of which the latest iphone isn`t IMO.
Which suggests that you are simply regurgitating the hype, rather than relying on real world personal experience.
In which case I would refer to back to my post above

There was a thread on here a little while ago when someone wanted to know when the iPhone 4 was released as they couldn't wait to upgrade. At that time no specs had been released or anything so how can you know if you want to upgrade as you have no idea if the phone is any good or not or whether the improvements are something you need/want.
There is an element of 'shiny new toy syndrome' and it does seem to be worse with Apple followers
