There is a fair bit of difference between the MY04 and MY05 cars, the track is wider on the MY05, geometry is different (slightly longer, same as the Spec C which aids in stability), they have A-DCCD as standard with uprated yaw sensors, engine wise its pretty much the same, unless you have a Jap version and then they did some nice tweaks on the inlet? or was it the manifold for better gas flow, slightly more performance anyway
So if you can get an MY05 then its a better handling car.

I,ve owed 4 classics over the last 10 years including 300bhp Sti 4 and a 330bhp MY 00 UK. I,ve just bought a MY 05 JDM Sti with 355bhp.The car has much better build quality than the classic and being a JDM has all the toys. To be honest my 330 classic felt quicker off the mark but once rolling the 05 Jdm feels noticably quicker.Even though my car has 18 " wheels and lowered Eibach springs it still feels more comfortable, so another vote for the 05 Jdm. Steve.
