The Spec C RA wasnt standard Shaun
and from day 1 of the new hatch Spec C they were testing it with the uprated brakes, this could just be the final incarnation of it before they release a new "special edition", so really for it to hold the record, does it not have to be a road production model?? ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)

At 3mins 20 sec they state that the car used was a prototytpe which "would" be very similar to the production model?

Rick, they changed the ammout of torque split front/rear on the hawkeye cars, supposedly it wasnt as good as the MY05 Blob cars as it was too understeery

Immy, probably agree with you there, I have a feeling its a new limited car, always a good selling point getting it around the ring quicker than everything else then putting it into production

I dont know Tony, Iv driven both, seen both on track & watched videos & tests comparing both by pro drivers & I still think the revised Hawkeye DCCD on the Spec C is better than previous versions. The problem IMO with the blobeye DCCD in Auto mode wast that it was a bit unpredictable on the limit, its not that the Hawkeye became more understeery. I think the Hawkeye got rid of that sudden changing to over steer on the limit in AUTO, which could cause a slight loss in stability & time in the blobeye. I think the Hawkeye took an unfavourable handling trait out of the blobeye & not IMO a question of oversteer. But thats just my opinion I am sure there are others out there who would say otherwise.
Anyway all this talk & automotive **** of SpeC's & JDM Hatch & saloons makes me want to go & get another one asap!!!! lolol

You totally misunderstand me. Who's to say the one in the video did not have a hybrid turbo, Cosworth heads, Q16 race fuel and 2bar of boost? Just because it is made out to be a production car (current or future) does not mean the actual spec was that of the production car they are suggesting. That is what I am getting at. What they publicly state the spec was, could be some way off what spec it was actually running to achieve that time.
Anything published commercially I always take with a pinch of salt.
It's all academic anyway imo.
