+1 disklok. I've used the same one for 16 years since my Mk2 Astra was pinched from the Vale car park at Birmigham Uni. I lived in some pretty shoddy areas after that and my Calibra, Probe, 2x Cougars, GTO and 3x Imprezas have never been touched... yet

Disklok appears to convey - "DON'T BOTHER TRYING".

Glad he got it back

When I imported my 1st scoob I had to wait a week for the plates to come and during that week I had to wait 3 days before the alam was fitted. So I bought a disklock and parked it in my mates garage until the plates arrived.

The insurance Co. would insure it on the chassis no. but would not insure me for theft until the alarm was fitted.

Mate.
Good news...
If your looking for somewhere reliable for alarm installations-Blackjax etc-I always use Quicksilvers-just off the stratford road in Sparkbrook (0121)773 7000.
Out of curiosity, where was it found-South Brum or further afield?

Consider this too..

Remember speaking to a guy at an RSOC event that had had 5 RS's nicked (I know) and continued to be plagued by attempts to steal.
He fitted a keyswitch local to the fuel pump (under the seat).. and they never got another.
..there are obvious variations on this that can be done but it would take some finding.

They will take it if they want it... but this may delay them long enough to give up.

Glad he got it back. I had my old Honda Civic nicked years ago. Id bought a set of alloys not long before it got nicked, all they did was take it for a joy ride but when the police found it the alloys/tyres had been completely curbed and destroyed but they had also nicked the locking wheel nut key, *******s! So it sat in the impound for ages whilst I got a new wheel nut key to get the damn things off and drive home. Fees for the impound cost a shed load!

One of the worst type of scum are car thieves

Had my STi3 stolen early New Years Eve back in 2002. They got into the house, found the keys downstairs, took my coat and wallet (which only contained a fiver ) and sped off.

I heard nothing due to the alcohol I had drank the previous evening. They got in at about 2.30am so we'd been asleep for about 2hrs. My mrs heard it go up the road and looked out the window to confirm it was my car missing from the driveway.
The most chilling part about it was I was still drunk and half asleep. I went to the top of the stairs and could see the front door was open..
I must admit I was pretty scared going down stairs in case anyone was still in, but thankfully they'd all gone.

Fortunately my car was fitted with Tracker and at the time they wern't stripping cars down immediately to find any such device.
The car was found abandoned at 5am in a block of garages within a council estate in Solihull! (I'm in Derby).
The spare tyre had been fitted to one of the rears and there was a nail in one of the front tyres, There was also a scratch across the front corner..
All in all it cost a grand to put right - one new alloy, 2 new tyres, new locks (unsurance paid out separate for locks), and paint repair.
It completely fooked up my New Year do too and plans to go for a couple of road trips the week after..

Forensics found nothing - only glove prints
It was evident on getting the car back that there were 3 occupants so in a way I'm glad the keys were downstairs.

I've moved house since and got a garage and a sleeper car.

That's my little story.

Hope you find it mate.

Nick

Glad your bro got the car back with minimal damage. He was lucky, and the police deserve a pat on the back this time.
Get a cat 1 and a snap off steering wheel, which is one of the best deterants imo
