Because for a goal keeper to be paid £40k per week you would have thought he would be a little better than that ....

Is he your brother or something ???

Does have its good points, it drowned out the laughter on the 40 min mark as Mr Green looks to have butter on his fingers

Mocking the americans only makes the english look even worse. Try imagining an english basketball team beating the american all stars lol. Truely truely pathetic.

What a load of ****e. Hate football, thought I might actually watch it this year but not now. Couldn't give two ****es about how well we do after that showing. At least our F1 boys know how to win! And they are on a damn site less money!

Nonsense: Button's on about 6 million per year (= 115,000 per week) and Hamilton's on about 12 million per year (= 230,000 per week). An absolute top-earner footballer like Gerrard is on 120,000 per week. A duffer like Robert Green is on 30,000 per week. Still money for old rope though.

Fair enough. But thats only the top driver's. Most of the grid has to bring their own sponsorship just to be able to drive. All footballers should get paid a basic and then performance related pay.

Cool

Why is everyone giving Green a hard time? He made one mistake. What about the rest of the team? They make mistakes all the time, but it usually just means the opposition gets the ball, or they miss a sitter. He made a great save later in the game. It's a team game, England should have been able to blast a few in to make up for his one mistake. It's not as if they were playing one fo the big teams!

I don't agree that Green "made a great save later in the game". I think he nearly fluffed that one as well. No 'keeper should ever be beaten at the near post from that sort of angle. He should have comfortably parried it round the post: in truth he was just millimetres away from another monumental f*ck-up.

As for the rest of the team, well you're 100% right of course.

Yeah - it was too close for comfort. He saved it by the skin of his teeth!

It would not surprise me if that new design ball wasn't spinning like a top when he got his hands to it and it jumped out of his hands because he was unable to get right behind it in the time available to him. When it left his hands having been virtually stopped it then found a life of its own to continue to the back of the net. He had to stop it initially with his hands flat and thats why the ball got away from him. I don't think it was a mistake so much as bad luck.

Sorry, but that is 'loser' talk! You make your own luck in sport.
