RICHARD BURNS TRIBUTE DAY !

Think we have apready done a tribute for Richard with the Lands End to John O'Groats relay, the organisor of that great event was shocked to see Richards death overshadowed by the death of an Alcoholic footballer and felt something had to be done so he got off his **** and created a wonderful tribute in the form of the Relay. It was this event that gave me the inspiration to do the Gathering for Colin.
If it gets anywhere near the size of the Gathering then i would be surprised, That particular event only succeded on the scale it did because of 3 things.
1, Prodrive/Police/HA/McRae family/Council support
2, Starting in the middle of Scotland and terminating in the middle of England
3, It was for Colin
Inform the Regional Traffic Control for the Highways Agency, Local council at Banbury and Thames Valley Police as soon as possible of your plans as they have the powers to kyebosh the event on the day. Get thier support and they will help you in return.
I know that there is something big in the pipeline for next year that will involves Richard and Colin's Subarus' running in anger once again and as soon as i know something more concrete i will be along to inform the masses of something they certainly wont want to miss out on

prodrive are going to speak to the police and the council
we will be having convoys from different directions, some of the cumbrian and tyne tees scoobies are coming down from the north.
just need to sort out where the other convoys are starting/route.
will post more details when things have been discussed

right then. sorted some details out earlier-
there will be an entry fee, paid to the RBF and a sticker sent out-No entry without sticker
(RBF will decide on cost and design of sticker)
No club stands, stalls, gazebo's or banners
(business's are welcome, but will park among other cars.)
Possible attendance from 'police interceptors' and Robert reid
There will be a raffle, tickets avaliable on the day.

Would it be worth calling/chasing the MSA to see if they want to contribute? I did some work for the MSA when the "other Gathering" took place and asked them if they would be willing to give anything towards prizes etc but at the time a lot of changes with managers were taking place and it was left too late for them to arrange anything.
Maybe some tuners on here would be willing to give prizes like Zen,RCM,Lateral etc.

Just a bit of an update;
I meet up with Dave Pearson today from Total Impreza magazine and he will be joining us at the gathering along with Karl from Cross Roads garage, he works for a Subaru dealer in Warwick he is goin to bring a car along.
I will give Clare from RBF a call on Monday and see if we can have a meeting.

Be great if we could organise something from our direction, I'll contact Tyron from south wales scoobys and see if he's keen to organise anything, as he's in the know on here with people and im pretty new to scoobynet so dont think i have the contacts to get it going!
