It's not about being whiter than white.

I'm sure plenty of people here are guilty of speeding at one time or another, that's not really the issue, it's that he did it and wants to get away with it.

Everytime a person speeds, they take a chance. If they don't get caught, good for them, but if they do when knowingly breaking the law, get on with it.

Not always lol, got a big engine the mpg is horrible while doing city driving as its basically just idling at 30mph, motorway speeds are where the fuel saving is

not going to keep going on as this will keep going around in circles but as per qoute above....the car needs replacement suspension parts for mot and it was being driven over the speed limit exactly my point!!! As for comments made about most failing there mot for not having cats 2 things some of us have sports cats and having an mot with emisions issues is not quite the same as not having mot at all

I can't believe some of the crap i am reading here, "i got 3 points last month and didn't moan" whats the matter with you? You said they only just changed the speed limit the week before and you don't feel aggrieved about that?

The OP was in the wrong here and all things considered should prob just take his medicine. But come on we all speed and your lying if you say you don't. The majority of us do it every single day we go out.

So lets get of the high horses and remove the halo's from are heads hey, apart from "Anger" who obviously loves the police so much prob offered to pay double the fine cause it was his 1st points in years ha ha

No offense Anger just a bit of banter!

Ive been pulled 6+ times for speeding and have always talked my way out and had a clean licience, including a high speed play with a porker what would have been a big ban

So the 3 points had been a long time coming......

Why should he moan? I now like Anger(not that I didn't before) and I hope he sees where I'm coming from but regardless of when the limit was changed, if he knew about it and still went above, he took a risk and was unlucky. He probably didn't moan as he knew he'd been caught out. Unlucky this time but as it turned out, he's been lucky in the past. It's a chance you take.

As for the 'get off your high horse comment', most people aren't on one, certainly not me. I'm not saying whether I agree with speeding or not as it does not matter, nor does it matter what I or anyone else feels about limits etc. The fact remains, if you are going to chance it, you get on with it if you are bang to rights.

Regardless of the holier than thou comments, if the OP can get off then why not go for it? I wouldn't fall on my sword if there were other options + it's all just money spinning for the Rozzers & Govt so we should all do what we can to stand up for ourselves. I'd say that regardless of car being driven

going on about contesting 3 points+ £60 fine if stupidity/negligence was endorsable you should be banned!!!!
Its ace being on holiday,i actually have time to comment on stuff on forums instead of just having a quick read.I dont think the above is OTT,just an opinion.Fair does he,s been caught speeding, just pay it,you aint going to get away with that.As for the mot,its up to the car owner to remember stuff like this,i make a point of remembering because its much less hassle than forgeting, because i,m not whiter than white either, and i,m sure no MOT would invalidate your insurance,so its not just a matter of FORGETTING your mot.WAAAY too serious i know, but what if the original poster had run over a relative of yours(forget the speeding,we all do that),but no MOT,therefore possibly no insurance, who,s changed their opinion now?Ahhh holidaysvodkaand opinions on forums,i,m going to take more time off

take it on the chin dude....it 30 for a reason. 19 mph over the speed limit aint giving anyone the chance of surviving if you hit em.i work for local authority and been too many road traffic accidents too clean up the bits cos someone thought 30 was too slow for them.theres plenty safe fast road too play with the car.time and place for everything
