although agree with your point that you cannot, dive down the inside to get past a outside lane hog.

Not reading through all of the comments but,you can still pass a driving test without having no motorway driving exam, majority of drivers now are not really drivers, most thing i notice is drivers who enter a motorway doing 30 40 mph and thinks it's ok,then you get the ones that enter the motorway and get a bit of speed up then suddenly brake so now they are matching your speed and create a hazard, and then there the ones who enter a motorway from the sliproad and think you have to move out to the middle lane to let them in,most just move to the middle and do it to be curteous but is the responsibility of the person who is joining the motorway to enter and join safely without causing other vehicles to move out the way. Then the ones who sit in the middle lane behind a slower vehicle, just get in the 3rd lane and overtake ffs our motorways do have 3 lanes don't sit in the middle lane behind a truck who is overtaking another truck, get in the 3rd lane and get the **** past out of the way bye bye..

I find hills work well. Match their speed and move over... As they go up a hill their speed drops off, mine's on cruise so doesn't and I end up in front where the road is clear for miles ahead. It doesn't always get me past but at least I don't have the frustration of looking at the back of their head grinding my teeth.

While most of the points mentioned annoy me too, there is something else that i see most days that really winds me up and that is cars that are going that slow that there is a truck overtaking them, and as i drive a lot on the M18 & A1(M) which is mostly two lanes i tend to give them the ketchup bottle signal

Car drivers doing 50ish on the inside lane when all the other traffic is zipping along do my nut in. I seem to creep up on them in the truck then need to over take. Usually as soon as they see me pull out they decide to throttle it a touch and pull away. Being limited to 56mph leave's me looking like a kipper as I have to move back in!

lol been there done that or you start going up a hill.

lane hoggers do my head in aswell, it happens so much i dont take much notice anymore but i do remember when i was on a clear motorway someone was in the fast lane with no -one about, i came up behind flashed them, they then moved over to let me by and then went back into the fast lane behind me,

you should get 3 points for it imo

People pulling out on a 40-70mph road then not actually accelerating and sitting 20mph under limit . That pisses me right off.

In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake. If somone moves over and collides with you, THEY are responsible provided you are adhering to the rules as stated.
I really don't understand why you have said all that when it is basically what I was saying.
