Quite simply I don't feel bad at all, other than not having my own. There's one sat here with me now, it's a fantastic piece of kit and to be honest the opinions of a few people on a Subaru related forum don't mean that much, especially when compared to personal experience.
I said it would be an awesome piece of kit, and it is, no digging in the dirt can change that all it can do is excite people who thrive on the negative.

So are you admitting that's all it can do?
Tha'ts one sh1te phone, if that's it's only feature
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I really cannot understand why people would want to buy one
![Cuckoo](images/smilies/cuckoo.gif)
But still at least now you're admitting it's sh1te, so perhaps now you could think about a course of therapy now, for your inherent (and quite frankly unhealthy) unbridled passion for the i phail 4

As a 3GS user I have stood by, pretty much without comment, as jack has defended/promoted/embellished all things apple, but not to be able to accept the total f£&@ up that the iPhone 4 release really is, (and yes I have used one) means that he SERIOUSLY does need therapy as others have suggested on this thread.
PS before anyone says it, I have had plenty of therapy in my life, but for more serious issues than apple fetish....![Cuckoo](images/smilies/cuckoo.gif)
Honestly jack.... Once in a while it's ok to laugh at even your own football team making a poor signing or playing badly (if you get my drift)

He has been doing a cracking job of winding you lot up the past few months :-)
Seriously, he hardly has to say any thing and we have a multi page thread of almost ravenous 'owners of lesser make handsets'![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)
He likes his Apple nonsense, but if he thought something else was better, he would most likely jump ship to a competitor, and that would predictably end in a multi page thread of "i told you so" from everyone, while I doubt he would be even remotely arsed in the slightest.![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)
It is hilarious

Les I think its more that we are not used to seeing what phones are really valued at.All we ever see as consumers is the cost of the phone absorbed into a monthly contract.
I still think the part that takes the biscuit the most is the pricing of the tariff's for the iPhones, which is completely different to the pricing on other handsets. But guess this is partly cost recovery and of course partly putting them on another level to others.
That said, all UK tariffs are still so much nicer than USA ones, poor sods lol

Jack obviously works for the PR team at Apple, either that or he`s the result of an apple experiment where the company introduced an app which allows the user to make luv to their iphone and Jack was end result lol
C`mon Jack, you defend iphone way too much. I`m an HTC owner but even i`m willing to admit that things could be better like with the speaker which is pretty poor IMO.

It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. I can't have you lot missing out on ground breaking technology just because some uneducated member reads a web page and starts ranting. Plus my shares are still doing great.

Got my iPhone 4 today
my first iPhone and I love it. Haven't actually made a call on it yet but everything else so far is brilliant. I'm well happy with it

I got one - it works fine. It is way better than her indoors' 3G for just about everything. Call quality makes my old Blackberry Storm look poor as well. The refund thing is just Apple saying 'We know it works and you won't have any issues, but if you think you do you have a get out. Also if you think you might buy one, you can try it with no commitment'
As far as weight goes, the 4 does feel substantially heavier than the 3GS. This is strange, as Apple claim that the 3GS is 135g and the 4 is 137g. I've weighed them both on the kitchen scales and it reports 141g for both. Weird. - Battery life on the 4 is miles better than the 3GS, but completely cr4p compared to the BB. So the crux is, I can give the iPhone back for a full refund and keep using the BB Storm, or keep it. Costs me way more to keep it, so if it was a crap as the thread suggests, then I would go for the refund. No chance.
btw - as a general rule I hate Apple slightly more than I do all their competition. They try to control you in ways that Microsoft, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and the Con-Dems have never dreamed about. That said, if you get a chance for an iPhone 4, it is worth it

The trouble with this subject is it is so subjective.
As some of you know (LOL) my initial 3Gs had major recption issues and the replacement was not much better. For me this rendered the phone close to useless. Others tried to tell me I was wrong of course as how could Apple possibly make a phone with a weakness and I do realise there are many people that never experienced a problem with theirs.
Then Apple announced the iPhone4 sayng one of the things they had done was re-engineer the antenna to overcome some reception issues with the 3Gs .... good news I thought and I hadn't been imagining it after all![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
However now the new model has a slightly different issue that again only some people experience and find a problem whereas others don't see the issue or just get round it.
There is no right or worng here of course, it's all just a case of perception, but given my experience with the 3Gs I think I will give it a wide berth even if Orange try and give me one eventually.

I don't think you'll find Steve saying they engineered the new and innovative aerial to overcome issues, it's simply one of the thousands of improvements Apple make every time they release a new device.
You are right though, it's subjective, subject to your transmitter's power and your position in relation to it.
Are you still using your 3GS or do you want to sell it? Worth a little less now, but I'll give you a fair price.

Interesting write up in the NY Times on it. With some interesting quotes from apple too. acknowledging the issue, saying it has been ongoing since previous models and now their bug fix wiull show you just how poor the reception alwasy was..... in so many words lol
However I am impressed by the number of powners who say they just cant get theirs to drop its signal strength, while at the same time I did 4-5 on the trot in the Apple store the other day. Denial or luck?

Gyroscope, Wireless N, The famous Antennae, Superman strength glass front and rear, A4 chip. That's five and all of them are hardware. How about HD Video, On Board Video editing, do I need to go on.
Oops that 3 to 4. Here we go with the 3G to 3Gs.
Faster Processor, Faster Graphics chip, Better resolution screen, 32gig memory, Compass, Video Recording, Oleophobic coating, Higher Res Camera, Nike Plus support, Voice control.
Those are off the top of my head. Anything else you need to know?

I Can't Stand Rocking When I'm In Here
Because Your Crystal Bal Ain't So Crystal Clear
So While You Sit Backand Wonder Why
I Got This ****ing Thorn In My Side
Oh My, It's A Mirage
I'm Tellin' Y'all It's a Sabotage!

screen is the same afaik - be interested to see links to this?
camera is two
32gb was optional
I'll give you screen coating and compass... Sorry I forgot about the Nike Plus support - where would we be without that innovative engineering. The rest was software updates that Apple could have applied to anything but they chose not to, because they knew you'd cough up.

Have you owned an iPhone 3G and an iPhone 3GS Tathan? I very much doubt it as you'd know the differences are in fact huge, ask an owner if they'd mind going back, they'd look at you like you were stupid.

Oh ok, if you say so. There was me looking for facts but I'll take a 3rd hand opinion instead.
Have you ever seen a man poke a wasps nest with a stick then run off?

Just stating facts in answer to your questions and comments, don't ask them or speak out of place and I'll save batteries in my most excellent Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - which by the way works great with my iPhone, thanks Steve.
