LOL
Among many other Toyota issues:
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUST...edName=topNews
Potentially faulty part(s) in question that might have been affected were due to a design flaw. In that example above - valve spring not thick enough.
Had Toyota properly designed the parts in question there would have been no such issues. At least an iphone user can hold the phone in such a manner so as to guarantee the design flaw would not manifest itself.
My facts stand up in the context. Not my fault if you are too stupid to see that.

Not to mention your use of the word 'never', when in recent times it's quite clear that Toyota have replaced a suspect part on vehicles belonging to people who haven't even had the issue, which is going even further than Apple have!
Like the fact you call me stupid too - when all else fails, start the insults eh?

Was just having a read on an article in the NY Times about production of the iPhone 4 and it raises the subject of production costs. The iPhone 4 comes in at around $182 in parts, and a touch more for manufacturing. Plus packaging, shipping etc.
The margins on a retail handset, non contract is guestimated at approx 60%.
So while the retailer would like you to believe you are buying an extremely expensive handset, it's certainly not anywhere near as expensive, or the leagues above the rest that they would like you to believe.
Be interesting to see what the production costs of the Desire etc are now. prob not as high, but curious.
The article goes on to say about rising production costs in China and how it may start to affect the cost of the phones or the profits of the companies.
Your sincerely your resident anti-fanboy, Apple hater, compulsive whiner, sausage fingered iPad owner.

Let me get this right - you have linked to an article where Toyota are issuing a recall, thereby coming clean and resolving the problem, to support your stance of Toyota not coming clean and resolving the problem?
Not to mention your use of the word 'never', when in recent times it's quite clear that Toyota have replaced a suspect part on vehicles belonging to people who haven't even had the issue, which is going even further than Apple have!

I haven't even started

OK.
Lets get this clear.
I used Toyota as an example of a product flaw where no refund was offered. Most certainly not on a global scale.
Faulty valve springs, sticking pedals when subject to wear an tear, badly performing esp systems, etc, are not, incidentally, something that can be prevented by the user by simply avoiding shorting the antenna.
I'm neither offering "fanboy" support to Apple, nor am I criticising Toyota, a company for whom I have a high degree of respect. I was merely highlighting the point that despite the issue with the iphone being a non event for probably the vast majority of users, Apple had the good grace to offer a full refund. Did Toyota? No.
And out of nowhere, you come wading in on some sort of mission stating that my post lacks validity because I can't get my fact right
![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)
Now, I'm not sure where you assumed my stance was that "Toyota did not come clean to resolve the problem"
My exact words were:
"Personally I think it's commendable that apple have come clean and offered a full refund. Never seen that from others such as ... Toyota, etc, etc when their products had a design flaw."
From those two statements I would suggest that its blindingly obvious that the words "never seen that from ...Toyota" (you don't need the brackets, incidentally) relate to the immediately preceding "come clean and offered a full refund"
Note "offered a full refund" not simply "resolved the issue"
And as it was so blindingly obvious, the only logical deduction was that you were either lacking sufficient intelligence to understand the words "full refund" or that you had jumped to conclusions based on assumptions of your own making without actually reading what was posted.
If on the other hand, you are able to offer substantiative evidence that Toyota offered all purchasers of affected products a "full refund" then I will apologise unreservedly and retract the "stupid" statement.
Over to you

Easily done, and doesn't require insults.

You're correct - it doesn't require insults, but, hey, I've been called much worse on here and survived
