What a boring place the world would be if everyone took that attitude. It's clear you bought the wrong car last time around have and vented your frustration on this forum ever since.

^^^^^^FAIL^^^^^^^

I felt no need to modify my car - I think that means I bought the RIGHT car!!

Those who want to modify their car, clearly didn't!

No room for improvement? I doubt an engineer would say that.

I don't know any engineer who would agree with that statement. If it's beyond your ability of course................

I operate Right First Time Engineering Solutions ...... some Engineers are happy with 2nd best and then struggle with tinkering in a vain attempt to do what I did initially

But you didn't design those cars did you?

Does that mean you cannot improve on the 2nd rate (by your standard) attempts?

Yeah, you're right. There is an obligatory input from PSL on any post that mentions Cocklink - bugger! now you've got me spelling it wrong!
It seems I take things seriously because I am enthusiastic about anything mechanical. Like you I am an ex - engineer, I even taught engineering in a tech. college for many years. I have an enquiring mind and get bored easily and because of this and my background, I take advantage of the advancements available eg performance enhancements, synthetic oils, monitoring aids (Cocklinks) etc. I can tell if a product can add a benefit or not.
By the way, individual componants may be manufactured 'right first time' but their combination will rarely produce a car that carries that honour - least of all, a Subaru!

Short memory, an extract from a recent thread you posted:

"What should I ask for my Ninja Backbox? It was sold to me as a Ninja and it looks exactly like one, but it has no markings?

It's sat in the garage, when it should be sat on someone's classic sounding brilliant! "

A few posts later:

"It's the one mod I would, and can, recommend in all honesty ..... OK, it looks a bit boy-racer, but the sound is fantastic.

I was concerned that it would be too loud and/or rumble at motorway speeds .... it isn't too loud (classy loud I call it) and it is absolutely not intrusive at motorway speeds and on long journeys."

A few posts later:

"Stainless Steel - will last forever!"

Full version here:

https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...uld-i-ask.html

So you've confirmed mods are a good thing for personal reasons 'the sound is fantastic', or technical reasons 'Stainless Steel - will last forever!'

Nuff said
