I believe that it is better to have more unused fuel returned to the tank rather than not enough supplied to the injectors when required.
Cue counter argument from you know who...

Chris, FFS do not join in with Pete Lewis the resident SN Bellend.
From reading his posts he seems to be a failed engineer or an oldskool engineer who does not like change, and cant accept that Subaru tuning left him behind years ago in his UK classic that in his own words can not be improved.
The whole article is misleading as Paul Blamire pointed out, Scoobyclinic may well have done the article but im sure they dont run any of their cars on a standard pump be it from a hatch or older.
These articles tend to get lost in translation and Total Impreza are well known for there bad editing, hence the comment from the guy that qoutes they cant even match the right car to the right owner let alone the specs lol.
Epic Fail for Total Impreza, not good for the enthuiasts tbh, i no longer subscribe as its full of gash info.
It would be nice to see SC put the record straight or maybe Mr lewis could do it seeing as he as a wealth of knowledge modifying scoobs LOL.

At least back your bold statements up, ive read many of your posts and you seem to be against the modified scene. Im sure if you wished you could have gone to the expense some of us go to.
Something tells me you were bullied or done up the chuff at some point by a scoobytuner
Your man Moat had issues, will we see you on the news soon

SORRY PETE love you loads but now your the Cocklink
Unfortunately if you were one of the MANY that paid £2000 and had PPP fitted and your engine Blew up, then you can see this thread below. And WHY an uprated Fuel pump was fitted as STD on a STi PPP up to 2005/6
https://www.scoobynet.com/drivetrain...fuel-pump.html
I had a 350bhp and STD pump Ok on a JDM for 3+ yaers and ran well but now running 405bhp and as added protection I've upgraded STD pump to a Walbro

OK, so what the current thoughts are that if you are running 400BHP and above ... an uprated pump is added protection? But the standard pump is probably OK.
No-one, ever, has shown me hard evidence of what flow rates are required per BHP. And, of course, we are only talking of WOT - who the hell ever drives with WOT?

I don't really reply to any of your posts, generally i just read and move on
But your statement above really gets my..............oh sod it, i can't be bothered
'Probably OK' WTF? not helpful mate
if you spend loads of your hard earned on tuning your car you want to make sure nothing goes wrong, so, like many others you go with what is recommended A UPRATED FUEL PUMP!

Just had a look at Litchfield's online shop and they list a Spec C uprated fuel pump.

Are you sure as when I checked with Bob Rawle as to whether to change my fuel pump I'm sure he told me that the Spec C already has an uprated pump from the factory.

Fair enough, but i'm not sure if it has a higher flow rate than normal, it just has the anti surge/catch can kit fitted to it

Hi,
just to clarify, we did the test for our own research, Total Impreza have used it for a small feature but it seems they have made a mistake.
They have failed to mention that the standard pump we tested was from an 09 STI hatchback.
We had carried out a 550 BHP engine/Turbo conversion and needed to see what sort of flow the standard 09 pump was capable of, whilst the test rig was out we ran the walbro 255 and its bigger brother, followed by the Tomie and finally the Bosch pump, we were surprised to see the standard MY09 pump flow better than the 255.
We did not test the standard early pump as it was not neccessay, we know they dont flow as well as the 255 from what happens on the dyno, hence their replacement on the PPP and all our power packs.
The Total Impreza article is correct in all the details re pumps and flow, the only mistake is their failure to mention the standard pump we were interested in was the 09 STI HATCHBACK.
Hope this helps clear up the topic.
cheers
