Yes I will tell you that the iPhone is the best Smartphone on the market, but I won't tell you it's absolutely perfect in every way. Although it's getting there with the iPhone 4.
What the fact that your beloved iphone's bluetooth isnt up to the standard that the rest of the phone world have

as i said, my Sony bluetooth headunit is compatible with:-

My Samsung mp3 player
My Nokia N97
My Samsung Omnia
My K800i
My wifes SE phone.

its great to be able to stream audio from the phone to the car, and have

the head unit control everything.

18 months is a long time to be left playing catchup Jack.

prhaps you need to get it jailbroken, and install a 3rd party app

Serious question-why is signal an issue with all 'smartphones' or is it down to network provider?
Its just I cant see why that type of phone should suffer from signal issues more than an ordinary phone unless it was designed with form over function in mind.

I doubt they could afford to really. Hopefully the plastic housing will decrease the problem.

That was a comeback? I thought it was a statement, and it's true, in life we have to accept form over function to some degree.

Indeed it was a statement-thankfully in life have the ability to choose function over form at a sensible price rather than form over function at an 'exclusive' price, still if it makes you happy thats all that counts I suppose.

That's very true Richie, there are some wonderful, sensibly priced products out there that you have the right to purchase. This is a Subaru forum though, you do know that?

Yup-a 2k classic is almost impossible to beat for function over form and price-especially if you know one end of a spanner from another-What was your point though?

I had to wait 18 months for delivery of my very expensive 2000 Turbo Impreza. It didn't function half as well as other cars in the price range, but I wanted something fast and at that time it's image was good. Form over function. You even make the point yourself, "if you know one end of a spanner".

Look, don't waste your time on iPhone threads, if you don't own one, don't buy one, if you do own one, take it back for a full refund.

Oh goody does that mean you will keep out of threads that are not directly related to stuff you own-my comments were based on smart phones in general as you well know(assuming you can read my posts not just see them and assume their content)
By the way I meant 2k as in 2 thousand pounds not year 2000(not like you to leap to conclusions)-hence the comment about knowing one end of a spanner from another as the labour costs on these are the killer not the parts pricing.
As you were unhappy with your car did you reject it and get your cash back?
cheers richie

I wasn't aware signal was an issue with all smart phones, i've had a Blackberry 8900 Curve for coming upto 12 months and it's never had a signal issue however I hold it, until it went in the sink but thats another issue.

Methinks Apple bought up a big pile of phones and have highlighted the worst signal losing ones to put alongside the iphone.
Its called loss limitation.
